I tried injector cleaner and it did not work, my oil level is rising and im about to bring it in to get it checked tomorrow, will keep everyone posted
Interesting enough, i let my truck site for 3 hours and the oil on the dip stick was way past the top hole, but i let it sit for 8 hours and now my oil level is back to normal, could it be that these trucks take a very long time to settle down?

I purchased a 2020 ranger about a month ago. I was a dealer demo with 3100 miles. I put on another 1000 or so. I noticed the oil was up to the top circle when I decided to change it. When I finally got to it a few days later, it was 1/4 inch above. I put in Mobile 1 and 6.2 quarts. The level was to the top of crosshatch area. Two days and a hundred miles later, it is up near the top hole again. I am sending my first drain sample to Blackstone. My ecoboost mustang does not have this problem.

I plan on taking to the dealer in a week. Really disappointed in the truck. I love it, but don't think I can keep it long term. I might keep it to the 5 year powertrain warranty expires. We will see. I plan on 5K oil changes depending on the Blackstone analysis and what ford tells me.

If someone at ford keeps tabs on these forums, I hope they are working overtime on this problem. I really hope they can get it fixed. I love the truck and would love to keep it.
Do we know if Ford even knows about the issue? A handful of dealers seem to have taken a stab at it but I haven’t noticed any actual response from Ford yet.

Does anyone have a contact at Ford to see if we could possibly get a response on this, even a “we’re looking into it” would suffice.

Let it sit overnight and go by that level. I find that is the most accurate way to check it. Not what they tell you but that is the best way to check it!

I checked it this morning and it was below the the top hole, either way i took it to my Ford dealer and explained the fuel in oil issue, they kept it for four hours and told me that it is normal for these fuel injected trucks to smell like fuel and that everything is normal.

So I drop the truck off tonight. They are opening a case with Ford about the fuel in oil. I went 830 miles since the last oil change (on 2/27/21) and the there is still a heavy fuel smell in the oil and my oil level rose about 1/4 inch. They scored the dipstick so they knew where the level was. They are also going to do the GSB for the spongy brakes AND replace my saggy leather seat. On a positive note they are giving me a loaner F150 because they will need the Ranger for a few days. I'll post what they come back with.

FYI,
This is my break in procedure for the first thousand miles.
Not for everyone but this is how I’ve always done it...

“Allow the engine to reach full coolant operating temperature. At this point you can now switch to running from a medium load to medium/heavy load. This can be accomplished by running the car in a higher gear (4th or higher) and at a RPM in the 2500RPM+ range. Alternate between 50% to 90% throttle and make short bursts through the RPM range up to around 5000-5500RPM”

Quote is off Livernoise dyno break in procedures...

As an aside to the fuel issue, I was having difficulty getting a good reading of the oil level in my truck. I was warming the truck up, then parking it on a level area, then letting it sit for 15 minutes, then checking the oil level. The dipstick was usually covered in oil well up beyond the full marks, and impossible to read. I then tried a different process. After parking the truck, I removed the dipstick (and wiped it clean), and let the vehicle sit for 15 minutes with the dipstick remaining out of the tube. After trying this, the readings I have been getting have been very accurate. No oil up the dipstick, and a very clean indication of where the oil level is. My thought was that with the dipstick in, the oil wasn't able to completely drain down out of the tube, and messed up the reading. But with the dipstick removed, the oil in the tube is better able to drain down.

Not sure if anyone else has problems reading their oil level, but this might help. It worked very well for me.

Yep, i seemed to have trouble reading it and it appeared overfilled until i let the truck sit overnight or at least 8 hours

If there's no problem with the other applications of this engine ( Mustang and others) why is it so hard for Ford to figure out the problem with the Ranger 2.3 . What ever they changed for the Ranger application would be a good place to start!!!

I've asked this before....is anyone actually having engine problems that has this fuel in the oil issue? I'll be honest....I don't fiddle with my dipstick too much because I get the oil changed every 5K. No drips in the garage so why mess with it.....obviously it is stressful for some to look at that thing. I'm not saying don't check your oil, I just want to see some kind of issue resulting from all this talk.
Please don't think I'm being an ass, I'm just wondering if the dealer saying it is normal ops is really correct?
