very happy with my XLT - it has the power / heated seats (302a pkg I think) the only thing I really miss is the adaptive cruise control, I didn't think Id miss it but I do. other than that -- very happy with it, has most every thing I need or want.

On a truck I actually prefer the manual adjustment which lets me quickly move the seat or seatback to access cargo etc.
I prefer this on any vehicle but I would love to have the electronic seats that memorize your position. Which me and my wife swapping driving a lot it's a pain to try to get it back exactly how I like it. Seems like they could do electric seats with a manual override. Especially for moving the seat forward and back.

It's just one of these cheap ones. Popped it in right up at the top, can't see it from the seat and I had to get this pic from under the steering wheel.

If you wanted super discrete stick it to the roof of the glovebox hole.

Great idea! I just did the same thing with my garage door opener (Genie brand) and I like it much better than when it was clipped to the sun visor. I used Velcro because with my luck, as soon as I mount it, my battery will probably go dead! My Genie opener has three buttons and I can easily access all three of them. I have one of the extra buttons programmed to open my third-stall garage.

Thank You again for sharing!!!

9 out of 10 people are going to panic no matter, key or keyless !!!
You loose pwr brakes and pwr steering if you shut down.
Throw it in neutral and apply brakes, still pwr.....and you still have the pwr steering.
Majority of drivers, now-a-days, do not realize how hard it is to steer or brake without the pwr on.
And if you have a keyed ignition, and really panic, and remove the key as most are used to doing, then steering locks.
The easist thing to remember is the key. Plus Brakes and steering keep a reserve, brakes about 2 presses, and once your on them, you probably won't let off. Steering at speed is not that bad. you'll be stopped in 150-200 ft any way. Still remember the 911 call withthe CHP officer driving withthe V8 Lexus. yes they crashed. A Key would have avoided that. #KeeptheKey

I don't like leather seats so, no lariat for me.
302 pkg has heated seats. We love out XLT.

I just can't get past the thread title, "Did I cheap out on a XLT"? Sorry, but I purchased my XLT on 12/2/19, and I have never had a new vehicle since I've been driving for around 30 years now. I am extremely grateful for what I got, dang I would have been happy with an XL if the price was the same or less at the time.....sorry, just had to vent a little.

I'm late to this party, but I decided on the XLT over the XL and Lariat for several reasons and so far, I'm happy with it! I don't care for leather seats, so that's the main reason for not wanting a Lariat. I hate the rear sliding window, the mirror turn signals and the way the instrument cluster is on the Lariat as well...

I kind of wanted heated seats for the XLT, but I've never had them before, so it was fine that I didn't get them. I did prefer to have LED headlights though, but I'm working on swapping the Halogens out soon.

The only options I got on my XLT were a 301A package, leather wrapped steering wheel, locking rear diff, tow package and Black appearance package. The extra cost of all that extra crap that the Lariat comes with, wasn't worth it to me. I'm not a fan of adaptive cruise control, hell, I rarely use normal cruise control for that matter...

Vehicles are becoming too intelligent for drivers these days, so I ordered mine without all that junk. Except I do like the back-up camera and rear sensors. :) Mine also has that lane keeping mess on it, but I'm glad you can turn it off, which I did on my 1st day of ownership!

I ordered a 301A package XLT, prefer manually adjustable seats, even though I live in Canada I don't need heated seats (I just swear until I'm warm), I will miss push button start though.

I think the XLT has the better instrument Cluster anyway.

Likewise. Happy with my Certified Preowned 2019 XLT 302A Sport Package Supercrew. My 5th Ranger. Nicest thing I've had and first Automatic Transmission equipped vehicle I've owned .

Retired, work is a four letter word.
I am very happy with my 21 XLT 301A off road. The backup camera is nice but I don't use it much as I have always used mirrors, as for the lane keeping, never used it once, didn't need it. I hate leather and 'Nannies'. If you can't drive a vehicle safely without all of the electronic watchdogs you might want to call an Uber. I am the only driver so the seat hasn't moved since day one, so much for power seats, I have them in my RV and they are SLOW, manual would be much faster. As for heated seats? well, I lve in Calif, never gets cold enough, besides, I have enough issues with sweaty backside without adding heat to it, now cooled seats I might spring for.

Same here. When it gets cold, we head where it's warm. But, our old Expedition had cooling seats and it was absolutely wonderful.
