What are you folks with Tremors getting in regard to MPG?

Thinking this through... the Tremor package (Really just a lift kit and bigger tires) takes the Ranger FX4 from a 20/24 mpg vehicle and drops it down to a 19/19 mpg vehicle?

In town I can see how the heavier tires would be an issue... but cruising down the highway? I mean once you have momentum.. 5 mpg hit seems unlikely no bigger than the Tremor wheel and tires package are.

Maybe simply a gearing thing, the bigger tires change drive ratios?

I'm lifted with 285/70-17 stanced out while carrying a 1000lbs and getting 19-20 mpg...not complaining at all...a stock Tremor should be doing better...

....

I get 15.9 now a days (I imagine mine has more to do with aerodynamics than weight.)

Me when MSfitoy posts 95% of the time...

I drive 65 to 70 mph to work in DFW area. Currently, I only have less than 2400 miles on my Tremor. I Currently get 23/24 mph. I have also been tracking the mph over the entire life so far, and received 21.5 including the break in period.

I do notice that the truck's mph doesn't like speeds above 75. City street "stop and gos" also seems to have an impact as expected.

I have been very happy with the preformance of the truck. I didn't buy the Tremor version to beat people off the line, and drive with a smile every time since I got her.

With my mix driving, I'm getting right at 19 more or less. But don't even have 1000 miles on it yet.
And here in Southern Idaho it's been very windy, and wind really screws up mpgs.
Just bought another set of factory take offs there more of a road Tire. We'll see if that improves mileage any or not. Hoping it does but my main reason for changing tires was it's due to the rocks that keep sticking in these all-terrains and flinging out as soon as I get on the highway. I live on a gravel road for a short distance and so it's a real issue.
I figure the tires and maybe Wheels have got to be the only reason for the mileage difference. After I make the switch and ran a couple tanks through I'll report back some differences and the weight of each Tire and wheel setup.

I have about 1500 miles on mine and I've been very close to 19 MPG at every fill up so far. That is with me calculating the MPG each time because the gauge on the truck usually tells me I got around 20.4-20.5 MPG. I dont know why that is consistently so far off. Also, most of my driving is to and from work, about 12 miles each direction, with 10 mile of that on the Interstate where the speed limit is 75 MPH and if you arent going 85 MPH, you will get run over. I suspect that if I drove on the Interstate at 70-75 MPH my mileage would increase a least 1-2 MPG.

I'm right with you there. Usually these lie-o-meters are pretty close in stock form. But not on these rangers, well mine and yours anyways. Most my driving is 70 mph highway 18 to 19.5 seem to be my average so far.
With the tire and wheel swap I seem to be getting about 2.5 mlg better right now. We will see what it is when I hand calculate a couple tanks.
