I agree. I have used West Marine Gel batteries (4) in my boat and get an average 15 to 17 years use out of them. I have lived aboard for 26 years so they get a lot of constant use and live on a 115V charger and or solar panel. When I worked as a Marine Mechanic I found that my experience showed that AGM's were the least reliable and are very voltage sensitive. For that reason I have steered away from them and have continued to use Gel batteries in my boat.I hadn't had much experience with NAPA until recently however my parent's motorhome takes two commercial size AGM batteries. When we replacing the old NAPA with new NAPA batteries the date code on the old ones was 2010! 10 years is a ridiculously long time
