I think a under axel flip would be too much drop for me. I guess you could raise it with shackles to your desired height?

Rather have replacement leaf springs to drop 1”-1.5” +-

I personally don't think that will work. I could be wrong but I think raising a truck with a previously installed flip kit (with shackles) will introduce even more of a pinion angle problem than what you will have with just the flip kit. I'm not a suspension expert but I've lowered just about every vehicle I've ever owned and still own the truck in post #218. It took extensive work to get all the angles to a point where there is no drive shaft vibration because of poor alignment. It would take some wedges with a serious amount of angle to correct this issue, imho.

Now on the other hand, if you're able to lower the truck and then adjust the ride height in the fashion you mentioned and somehow eliminate drive train vibration effectively....let me know because I would probably follow suit because I dislike the raised butt look also.

I was going to have my existing leaf springs de-arched, however doing this makes the springs longer, causing the shackles to lean backwards. That's not a problem in itself, however there is very little room where the shackles sit to accommodate them leaning back out of their current position. I think that a custom set of fabricated springs to lower the truck a couple of inches is the only practical answer. I talked to detroit/eaton spring about this, but they weren't interested. A de-arched shorter spring than the current stock spring seems to be the only plausible answer, but there's no one at least local to me that's interested or capable of doing something like that. Like I said, I spoke to Detroit spring, but they only work from specifications supplied by the manufacturers, and it will be several years before they expect to have any information on the new Ranger.

Im no expert either and your lower paragraph is the only “common sense” approach imo to get a mild lowering stance and still have a decent tow capacity.

Unfortunately I think those of us that want a rear drop of 1.5”-2” will be SOL. The market supports both front and rear lowering to satisfy the custom truck crowd and those guys have deep pockets.
Time will tell.

I think I see another Ranger in my future ... 2WD supercab ... custom alum flat bed ... 4-6" lowered ... nicely built 400 hp / 400 lbft motor. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Not a mini Raptor but a mini Lightning. If there was some way to convert 4WD to AWD hardware I'd go that route instead of 2WD, a modern take on the GMC Syclone so to speak.

Same trans in the Explorer and it is AWD, so there is an OEM transfer case with a differential.

I was watching Truck Tech about Project Red Tide and they used the viscous coupler transfer case from a full size SUV AWD donor and put it on a Chevy 1500 4x4 truck. I don't see why it couldn't work, providing you could swap it. IIRC, they did have to fab up a bracket to bolt it to the truck. Here's the link:

I know it's not for our Rangers, but the idea has worked before....just need to see if everything would bolt together.

Received a GREAT email from Belltech Friday, the 10th.
I began a string of emails with Belltech on July 24th regarding the Ranger. Here is the timeline.

JULY 24 - I ASKED IF THEY HAD ANY PLANS FOR THE RANGER
RESPONSE:
Thank you for contacting Belltech. We plan on making a kit for the 2019 Rangers because it is a world wide platform. However, we have not brought one in here yet to do a test fit so it will be awhile before we have anything available.

OCT 11 - I ASKED IF THEY COULD PROVIDE AN UPDATE.
RESPONSE:
Unfortunately, we have not moved forward on producing a Ranger yet. Last I spoke to R&D they are focused on our SEMA projects and getting them produced then we will looked into bringing other vehicles in for test fitting.

***VIEWING EDWIN'S POST, HE DELIVERED HIS RANGER ON THE 14TH OF OCT; JUST A COUPLE DAYS AFTER THIS RESPONSE. THANKS AGAIN TO EDWIN.

JAN 9 - I AGAIN ASKED FOR AN UPDATE
AND NOW THE RESPONSE EVERYONE HAS BEEN WAITING FOR..................
We just finished our R&D on the Ranger and now the kits are in production. However, this will still be another couple of months for us to finish manufacturing.

JAN 13 - I EXPRESSED MY EXCITEMENT AND ASKED ABOUT DETAILS. WAITING FOR A RESPONSE. OF COURSE, IT'S 4:12 AM IN CALIFORNIA - I'LL GIVE THEM A FEW HOURS!

AGAIN A BIG THANKS TO EDWIN AND HIS EFFORTS TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN.

I CONTACTED MY SOURCE AT BELLTECH THIS MORNING TO ASK IF THERE WAS ANY NEW NEWS TO REPORT. I JUST HEARD BACK WITH WHAT I'D CONSIDER GREAT NEWS!

I just spoke with my engineering department and my Brand Manager. What we have developed is a 2.5" lowering strut for the front and a flip kit for the rear that should do either a 6,5, or 4 inch drop. We are currently in the production stage of this kit and I was told current release ETA is the end of April.

SOUNDS LIKE WE MAY BE GETTING CLOSE!

will this be for 2wd only or will it work for 4wd also? I don’t use mine for offroad at all and would love to drop mine a few inches!

Still have not received my suspension from freak ride , CNC was off , had to be re drilled and powder coat problems... I m in no hurry as it will take a while for the funds for the installer.
Regards
