I don’t consider this a large camper. It’s 7.5’ wide and the box is only 18ft, but apparently like you said, the footprint is enough larger than the truck that mileage is just horrifying. I really like this truck, but we plan to do a fair amount of traveling. I just don’t see this working out.
Back from the dead
I see nowhere near double digits in fuel mileage while towing. Granted today’s conditions were extreme (20mph headwind), but for my 140 mile trip I averaged 7, yes that’s right, 7mpg at about 60mph average. I had to fuel up at 120 miles with about 15 miles left to empty

I saw an engineering video a couple of days ago where this guy had a truck on the scales and attached his trailer. With air bags, the axle weights didn't change at all regarding the ideal set up. With a WDH, they were able to adjust the axle weights to a more desired number for both the trailer...
Bilsteins might be ok, however I've had bad luck in the past with Eibachs. I had two of them fail on my 2013 F150 (these were lowering struts).
I won't be doing any serious off roading in this Ranger. I bought the 4wd mostly because the price was right and it would obviously be a bonus on a wet...
Thanks for the replies.
I raised the front with spacers....a total of 2.5". It has the slightest amount of rake, but not much.
I've had my eye on the air lift company Ranger specific airbags that bolt directly in place of the axle bumpers. I've hesitated because there seems to be a debate...
I used the FactionFab 2.5 spacer kit. I don't have a decent picture yet.

I just added a front leveling kit, and we're looking around at 18-20 ft travel trailers. We probably wont go over one with more than about 4500 lbs gross vehicle weight. I know many have said that leveling the ranger ('19 xlt sport 4x4) negatively effects towing capacity, so I'm thinking about...
I finally broke down and bought a tuner and a custom tune for my '19 ranger xlt sport 4wd. There's a guy that I've dealt with in the past that is well known in the coyote tuning world, and at one point in time was the lead trainer for SCT (or at least this is what I was told). I worked with him...
yes, it makes sense. I'm sure that's why all the covers are suggested to be installed only on clean vehicles. Keeping it clean isn't a problem though. Mostly I don't want to climb up in the back of the truck (since I would have to roll up the tonneau cover) every time to slip the cover over a...
I try to keep my Ranger pretty clean, and since it has to sit outside all the time, I've been thinking of buying a cover. There are a couple of questions that have stopped me from buying one however.
Can I cover/uncover it by myself?. How hard is it to remove when it's wet?
What does one do...
It looks like it follows the body line and that's what has an angle in it. If it didn't follow the body contour imho then it would look really weird. Anyway it looks good whichever direction the stripes are leaning and the slight difference or slope from back to front doesn't bother me.
So a few times since I bought my '19 crew cab xlt ranger (saber) I'll be driving along, and like I usually do, will put my left arm on the door and drive with one hand (left hand). I'm sure I'm not the only one that has gotten the "please place hands on the steering wheel" message in the...
well that's an idea I hadn't thought of...lifting it and then doing a flip kit. That's an interesting idea. It might be doable with custom rear shackles and perhaps a revised/add on type of front spring perch. Seems it would be more cost effective than having someone make a set of custom...
I bought a set of new take off Bridgestone (Alenzas iirc) and 20" platinum wheels to put on my '13 f150 to replace the stock 18'' wheels. Granted these aren't an all terrain tire, however the brand new Bridgestones wouldn't get my truck up a wet boat ramp with the boat on the trailer in any way...
how are you guys checking fuel mileage after a tire swap? Did you use a hypertech programmer of forscan to correct the speedometer so mileage is accurate? If one has considerably increased tire size without correcting the speedometer, are you making mileage corrections to account for the reduced...
i traded in a 2017 supercab stx 5.0 for my '19 supercrew xlt ranger. I miss only having a flat floor in the back of the f150 that gave a little more room for hauling stuff around inside the cab, and the width of that cab that allowed me to carry around my bicycle inside the truck without a bike...
