Can this be done in the Ranger world? Has anyone done it?

Some in the F150 world are swapping the 4x4 rear axle blocks (the ones between the rear axle and spring) for the ones from a two wheel drive effectively almost leveling the truck.

Thanks

I lowered mine about an inch or so with 320lbs of sand.

As far as I know flipping the axle will raise the rear end. I'd have to take a peek at mine to verify.

I suppose the real answer is yes, but not easily. Only way to lower the rear is to do a axle flip, to get the axle on top of the springs. This will get you a 6 inch drop with stock springs and shackles. You coulds, I suppose, then use some high lift springs and/or lifting shackles to some hight back. At least one person on here has had the stock springs de-arched to take, I believe, 1-1/2" out of the hight.

I made a post about this... if you want a small drop - nope. REALLY lower the entire thing.. sure!!!

Easier to raise the nose a bit if you want it level.

I said to hell with it and stuck to the stupid mating stance and just added power. I have stuff in the garage to lift the nose, but I have yet to do it.

Belltech makes a lowering kit with lowered front struts and axle flip brackets for the rear.
Cost is reasonable but labor will be spendy since you have to get someone who knows what they're doing to cut the old axle brackets off and weld on the new ones...at the correct angle.
I had a pic I took of a truck with it at Carlisle last year but my hard drive crapped out last week and I lost all my pics. I've posted it elsewhere on this board so you might find it.

This FTW!

It's a truck, do truckie things with it. Fill it with dirt or wood or dump stuff.

Haul damper babes around - all kinds of ideas to lower that defectively high rear! =D

Don't squat!

Lowering the rear is sorta complicated. It can be done the way you want it to be but it would be… involved. There are no blocks. You would do an axle flip which gives 6” drop followed by raising it back up 2” with shackles giving a 4” drop. 4” is too much for a stock front height though so ….. custom lift leafs, a flip kit and probably still some shackles might do it. Don’t forget the exhaust problem created by shackles and a set of shocks too.
I originally wanted the same but instead just lowered the whole truck.

It's not as easy as some trucks, but it can be done, find a spring shop that can de-arch them, I had them take 1.5" out of the height, it was $135, then reset the pinon angle, shorten the bump stop and you are done.
