Did anyone else have this little 1/4" spacer on the drivers side, rear suspension, when they did the Belltech rear flip kit? I didn't stick it back in, but I can if need be?

There was only this one on the drivers side, none at all on the passengers side. I also believe the drivers side was 1/4" higher than the passengers side.

Anyway, please tell me what all of yall did with this spacer?

Thanks!
That looks like a shim Ford uses to correct a slight lean in the Ranger‘s backside. You’re likely sitting a bit crooked now.

Did anyone reinstall it with the Belltech Flip Kit? I'm going to go out to the garage in a bit and put it back in. I remember my 2003 S10 Xtreme had an issue similar to this, but it was the front, left and it was the coil spring. I remember someone made a 1" poly spacer, for the left front only and it corrected the S10 lean :)

They're mocked up with the plastic push "trees" in those pics. That's part of the set up to installed the super bolt sticky mounts. They're installed with the super bolts now.

Interesting...my install didn't have these "plastic trees"...must be recent instruction change...

I installed that shim tonight and both rear gaps are the same now, about 4 1/8" and after making a few slight adjustments up front, I got both sides within 1/8" difference between them, so maybe it won't move anymore and I can get it aligned this Monday?

I've been "bottoming out" on certain hard dips/bumps around town at speeds of 40+ mph. At first, I thought it was because of the bolts being too long, that hold the ball joints to the new adjustable control arms, but that didn't "fix" all of it.

I then adjusted my coilovers to the "performance" setting on the compression and rebound knobs. Thought that fixed it, but it happened again a few days later.

Then, tonight, when I had the truck on jack stands, I got a good look inside the wheel well area and noticed this:

The new control arms are making contact with the top of the wheel wells, on both sides, but the pass side seems to be worse...

I'm thinking about installing a 3/4" H x 2" W Universal Bumpstop in the area of the pic above, to see if that would "fix" things? What do yall think?

Well, that’s one problem you don’t have when lifting.

Does lifting a truck cause problems?

“Handling is going to take a hit, as the truck's center of gravity is going to be much higher. ... Carefully consider lifting a brand new truck, as this can cause prematurewear and added stress to critical components such as shocks, wheel bearings, suspension bushings, ball joints, and tie rods.”

Why would you lift a 2wd? And why would you mention lifting, in a lowering only thread? Hmmmmmm?

Toe is what eats up your edges of your tires. I was able to get toe and camber back in spec with the 2" drop on stock control arms, but my tie rods and control arms were about maxed in. I have almost 8000 miles on my drop with 1 tire rotation and noticed no abnormal tire wear. You should probably get your alignment checked out.
Toe and camber wear are different.

Camber is typically say 1/2 the tire is worn, normally the inside from negative camber.

Toe is typically the outside edge of the tire, say 1-2", from a lot of toe in. Toe out wears in inside edge, but again only 1-2".

I prefer toe in and negative camber.

Just happens to be the first complaint about lowering that Ive read.
It’s pretty obvious that modifying any stock suspension will result in some type of unforeseen wear or damage depending on how radical you raise or lower.

Why lift a 2wd? Same reason many want to lower one.
Personally I like a level truck stance, therefore I raised my front so I have the same height at the fender well front and rear
Had there been a lowering kit when I bought mine I might have gone that route, but if I’m going to bang the fender wells, I’ll pass,…..and that is the reason I’m following this thread.

Very true but we all like to modify our trucks no matter the consequences don’t we??

We could take the above list of faults and also apply it to lowering, minus the handling due to higher of center gravity but add the ground clearance issues and lack of suspension travel, depending on the application of course.

Im not knocking either, each his own, I like lowered trucks, the GM and Dodge full sizes look great lowered. The Ranger does too.
