Why could we not just use the same aftermarket 10R80 dipstick setup as advertised for an F-150?

Are you referring to an old-school dip stick that you access from the engine bay?

I assumed it had a stubby check fluid stick like the Ranger has. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

My 24 F-150 5.0 with the 10R80 does not have a real trans dipstick, neither does the Explorer, and AFAIK, any other Ford with the 10R80. I'm "patiently" waiting for that model from Mike's Build Shop @Fitzmotor

I see several braided steel hose options on fleebay - apparently all are aftermarket.

I'm not finding OEM alternatives either, but there are several aftermarket ones advertised.

There was never an OEM dipstick for the Ranger. That's why Mike @Fitzmotor took the time to make them up.

Hey Terry, did you edit your original post to include ā€œaftermarketā€?

Yes. I thought that I had seen an OEM system at Ford parts, but on second visit, I do not see one. I'm just seeing the units on ebay that claim to be compatible with the 10R80 transmission.

So, here’s the thing. People answered your original post based on the context in which it was written. Then, you edited your query, completely changing its context, while replying to members’ posts from that new perspective, making it look like they didn’t understand your original question.

I am working on one for the F150, actually it will end up being four of them, 2.7, 3.0, 3.5 and 5.0 are the ones I've had requests for!

Apologies. Seemed to be the most efficient way to make the correction.

Great history, thank you. I had read threads about the MBS solution, but not the first thread. This subject has almost become a "best oil" or "which tire" thread.
