Tire Size Fitment Master Thread

Hey folks. So I've done a lot of searching and have come up with whole a lot of inconclusive. Wondering if I could get anyone with a similar spec's perspective.

I've got a '20 Lariat FX-4 with the BAP 18s. I'm going to level the front with ReadyLift 3" and lift the back with the 1" block. I want to put a set of KMC545 Trek 17x8 +18mm offset on Falken Wildpeak 285/70/R17s.

What's the rub situation here? Anyone with a similar spec?

You're going to need to need to address the crash bars. I'd recommend the ReadyLift ones.

I installed the 2.5" leveling kit on the front of my my 2019 Lariat and I'm running 285/65-18 without any rubbing issues once I removed the plastic air dam. Crash bars are intact and my rims are a +30mm offset. The 285/70-18 are about an inch taller, so might rub some. Hope this helps.

So much information here I feel stupid asking, however many of the posts are customizing your ride for you enthusiasts. I have a 2021 XLT currently with 255/65R17 tires. I bought used so not sure if these were original or if the dealer put cheaper tires on. Anyway I would like to go to 265/70R17 without any lifts, level kits or other modifications. I will also be using OEM 17" wheels with +55mm offset. So will keeping things bone stock other than the increased tire size work without rubbing, etc.?

265/70r17 should work just fine. The door placard will have the OE tire size on it.

The consensus is that 265/70R-18 is the absolute max with factory wheel & no lift, but it also depends on how you're using the vehicle. If you go off-road and plan on flexing out the suspension you'll likely run into rubbing points. In that instance 265/65R-18 or 255/70R-18 would be considerations.

I have the leveling kit and want to move from the stock 18 inch rims to 17s. I like look of the extra rubber. I've been fiddling with the tire size calculator to find matching combos going from the 18 inch to the 17. Still I can not find the largest size I can fit, going to the 17s, with the leveling kit.

Ideas?

Apparently you can fit a 265/70/17 without a level. With a level you might be able to do 275/70/17? Have you checked this thread? https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/biggest-tires-no-lift.2458/

Hey guys, hope I’m not derailing the thread. I just bought a 2019 Ranger XLT FX4. The truck appears stock no suspension lift but is currently running 275/65/r18s. Is this possible or must it have spacers ?

If that's what you're currently running and there's no rubbing then I guess you're good to go, yes?

It’s rubs on full turn. Also pinky hardly fits. Wondering if I should downsize or level kit

Ah, then probably yes to either, whichever is gonna serve you best in the long run.

you can fit 285/70r17 on a stock truck. You get a small amount of rub, at full lock, in reverse. You can solve by removing the crash bars.

That being said: you can usually get a tire shop to test fit for clearance.

All everyone talks about is how they're gonna either level or lift their truck or use a spacer. I don't want to do any of that so I can't find an answer.

We would need to know the tire size and the offset of the wheel to help with that question. I believe the RR uses 285/70r17 tires, which means they'll fit, but you might have rubbing.

I had no issues with stock sport wheels (+55mm) with 285/70R17s with a 2.5" level and 1.5" Spacers. Ran them like that for 60,000 miles, never scrubbed once. I did unbolt and remove the crash bars.

Recently I have installed 315/70R17s with the same setup, trimmed the corners off of the fender flares and removed the honeycombs behind the fender wells. It does scrub before full lock. I ordered some steering rack spacers for now until I decide what I want to do next. There is about a half inch before the steering stop contacts when it scrubs the crash bar mounts.
