What a bunch of goobers. Why on earth would you not include anyone who wants to participate in an off-roading hobby to expand the over-all community in general.

Much like gun owners, people who off-road are their own worst enemies. Just stupid.

I'm the asshole who would just follow them. Then also break camp right next to them. Then follow them again. Rinse and repeat the whole time. If wanted to achieve maximum level passive aggressive I would make sure I got on the trail in front of them and make sure their pace was dictated by my pace. I would then say, "I guess I'll let you Toyota dudes come along" as I creep down the trail.

I understand limiting stragglers showing up in say a Honda Civic trying to go on a technical trail - but not being open to other trucks with the same basic function is just nothing more than elitists prick sauce garbage. All it does is re-enforce stereotypes justified or not.

I don't like it when taco-bros do it and I don't like it when some of our members do it either.

The 2A Community, the Amateur Radio Community, the Off Road Community - are all like that. Easy to blame it on men / macho / ego / testosterone but in the Hiking Community the women do it too and sometimes are the MOST vicious and brutal.

It seems to be a movement, almost, in America. If you don't do X like I do X then you aren't a real X-Doer. The internet has let everyone become an instant subject matter expert on anything and they all feel threatened by the next person on the internet. So they eat their own in order to preserve their own narcissistic personality disorder without question.

What is there to understand? If you have an outing for members of your brand x club, why should someone that owns a brand z feel he should be entitled to attend? Isn't that the whole purpose of having a brand x club to begin with? We have a classic Ford group, we wouldn't invite someone with a subaru wrx or a new ranger to come to our event. It is a private club, we don't have to accept you.

I guess it goes back to what the purpose of the "club" is - is it just for Toyota "bros" to get together or is the purpose offroading? Sounds like it is the former which isn't really an offorading club.

Agreed. I think that's what the distinction is over. I've been a part of multiple clubs that started out as an X Car club, but over time, people bought new cars and stayed in the club. All the while, we'd let people without X Car join us too. And we grew into a very diverse family of different cars, and it was fun.

There were still "sub" clubs within the overall club where all the Mustangs, Camaros, whatever would park together and talk, but also be around everyone else and talk to them. If we had only allowed Car X, none of that would have been possible.

No major damage this time. Steps have already taken some hard hit but they are holding strong. My lower control arm did take a hit this time but nothing to worry about.
The stock Tacoma lost 3 of his 4 steps, they sheered right off.

They're the regular running boards. They do pretty well as rock sliders though, for my use anyways. They have taken a beating and aren't even bent or anything. I'll eventually upgrade, but it's nice to know they offer decent protection.

You are 100% correct. You don't have to accept anyone and no one should force themselves into your attendance.

With that said,

Enjoy your equivalent of a boomer tree house with a "no girls allowed" sign drawn in crayon hanging on the entrance door I guess. You guys can sit around in your echo-chamber instead of actually doing something to expand the car community.

You don't have to advertise for all to come, but you can have an unspoken open door policy. There is a difference between the two and its going to come down to frame of mind rather than a message.
