The cowl vent is the bad guy here I'm sure of it now , needs WAY MORE DRAIN HOLES , all the slots are vertical , some should be horizontal, and if you look , almost all of them are fake and not cut out and water is overwhelming the ones that are, easy fix I think ? may not be pretty though ...

Makes sense now why the cover is made of "sponge like" foam...

Thanks for the work on this. What are your thoughts on why we were all seeing a ton of plug #1 being the rusted one and throwing a code. As opposed to 3&4 where it is dripping right on top of.

No idea, makes even less sense while driving because the fan would be blowing everything back , but when I had mine parked downhill, there was a LOT of water, may flow forward in that situation...

Ok so seeing your vids on water flow with a stock setup I should see water marks on my engine cover. The engine compartment gets plenty of fine dust everywhere like talc so I should be able to see the places where water drips and the runoff marks. That I do not see.

Trying to wrap my head around this. Is the water not flowing out of the piece with the slots in it and then over flowing to the lower piece which you said was two pieces?

The drivers side cowl piece , has LOTS of slots cut out for the water to drop down in the cowl BEFORE it even gets near the inside lip , the passenger side has almost none cut out , water puddles up and goes over the lip , when the wipers are down , 75% of the water on the windshield drains right between the gap in the blades and turns into that river you see in the video...

This is a common problem for many vehicles. The 5 cyl colorado, honda, toyota, many cars, trucks, suvs, etc have this issue. Seems to be a problem no one jas figured out yet. At the mechanic shop we would put a piece of half inch water hose on the junction where the plastic meets the metal, just long enough past the engine. If it was a long term fix i dont know. Cars never came back for the same problem anyway.

Just too bad the car engineers with all that knowledge and they cant figure it out. Across all brands!!?? Smh
