Last time I bought filters and wiper blades, I bought several - it brings down the total cost per unit quite a bit. Wipers are SO cheap on rockauto compared to what they charge in the auto parts stores!
Just remember that wiper blades, unlike filters, have a relatively short shelf life.
They will get hard in the package. Don't need to be on the car/truck.

What would you consider "relatively short"? I typically buy what I'd need for the next year or two and thus far I haven't had issues with that approach.

Best price on Amazon.ca is $16.69 or $147.07 @ 12 pack + 13% tax.

Amazon.com $3.97 + $8.92 shipping to Canada = $12.89.

Argh

I like RockAuto and use them a bunch. But lately their shipping prices are crazy.
I have been using Rockauto for decades. Here’s the trick with them as they really make the most profit on their shipping charges from multiple warehouses. Load up your cart and go to checkout where it will show what warehouse item ships from. Start deleting ones that are orphan or priced to high. Then add them back and see if warehouse changes. Many times it will.

Serious answer here but I do use Graphene on mine along with the wiper arms. You could always coat the unused ones with something like that just to keep them from drying out.

We don't get much rain here and I'm still on my original wipers and fluid. I'll occasionally use them to clean the dust and bugs off the windshield and they still work great. I figured what the heck it can't hurt as it's made for rubber and it seems to keep them from drying out as it has uv protection in it and it's worked out good.

I really don't think they make much profit on the shipping. I think they are just being honest and charging you what it really costs to ship, rather than providing it for "free". If you've ever shipped a package thru USPS, FedEx, UPS lately, it isn't cheap to ship ANYTHING these days. I know the big boys get a discount, but it still isn't cheap.

I’ll have to disagree. I once owned a business and many discussions were had over what we should charge for shipping. You would be amazed just by adding $5 bucks a package over base rates how much it adds up to over a months time. Especially when you’re shipping a 100 or more packages a day. A company their size and 10’s of thousands of packages over a month definitely adds up to huge sums. So one customer with 3 different locations charging shipping for one order is hitting the lottery. This transpires into hitting every day of the year! Remember now they most likely have contracts with all delivery services for volume discounts. So what you or I would pay for shipping and what they pay are significantly different.

I guess I look at it differently. I'm not saying they aren't charging more than it costs them - so say UPS charges them $10 to ship - They are marking that up to some degree, but it is for shipping and handling, so I take that to mean in includes all the packaging materials, shipping costs, plus the labor to pack the boxes. And taking all that into account, I really don't think they are making much on the shipping - if any at all.

FWIW, I always shop around to get the best price. I find more often than not something from Rock Auto is cheaper including the shipping than the same item else where that has free shipping.

Also, with Rock Auto the total shipping charge for an order is always less if it all comes from one warehouse than if it comes from multiple warehouses. They even tell you to save on shipping to consolidate the order to one warehouse.

I think any company would prefer to charge separately for shipping than try to build the shipping cost into the product cost. But they are forced to offer "FREE SHIPPING" to compete so the cost is baked into the product cost in such a way the shipping cost is covered for the majority of the locations they ship to.
