I use apple carplay exclusively...don't have a sirius subscription for music and use apple maps or google maps off the phone. is there any good reason to go through this nutroll to update syc3?

Did the install and day/night mode seems to be reversed. I get black in the daytime and blue at night. Anyone know how to fix that?

Updated to Sync 3.4.2082 on my 2019 Ranger STX. Did I miss something? Nothing different.
I got the STX as well, and I not been able to update. How long did it take for you? I am guessing with our basic screen, we won't see much change.

I bought my Ranger in January 2020 -- as I said, it shows that I have SYNC3 v3.4.20136 and doesn't show any available update. I'm not going to worry about it -- I'm sure it will update whenever Ford gets around to me..
mine is the same, ford shows a more recent update, but not available for my vehicle...........bullshit

Don't waste your time with the XML file if you updated with a USB drive. Mine would always come back as having a update available. I just connected the Trucks WiFi to my home router and checked for over the air updates. Truck said no updates. just checked on Ford's Sync update webpage and it now says its up to date. ?

Updated mine today from 3.3.whatever to 3.4.20282 via usb stick. Worked fine. had to replug in my usb after reboot for the .xml file. Only snag was I had to refresh my XM signal but that was easy enough. Everything seems to be working.

Easier. Just re-use the stick / download you had for the F-150. Since both trucks are NAV, the installer is identical. Then no need to mess with the autoinstall and such.
You sir... are a genius !!

I took the 2019 F150 w/Nav Sync 3 v3.4 Build 20282 update and installed it in the 2019 Ranger and I'll be darned if it didn't install the missing Gracenotes and NA Language Pack files. Even wrote the XML file. Took about 20 minutes.

Thank you very much for your help.

Edit: Oasis now also reflects the latest version of Gracenotes and the NA Language Pack is installed

I believe it's also providing album art when you're sourced to Bluetooth Audio.
Thanks. At first I didn’t see a version for Gracenotes but pulled it outside and checked again and it was there.

Just finished successfully updating (I think?)

2019 Lariat FX/4 with 501a -including Nav
Built Jan 2019, brought home in March of 2019
This is the first update I performed for Sync - went from 3.3 xxxxx (forgot to note down) to this 3.4 20282.

Went very smooth, I didn’t even remove the USB stick, and never shut off the truck to re-initialize or whatever it needed to do. When it completed (25 minutes) and gave the initial complete notification and that I could remove the USB , it went about 20 seconds of a black screen and then the Ford logo came up and it then showed the new user interface.

I did just re-start it after being off for about a half-hour. It did indicate up top that the update completed successfully. Went back to my computer and uploaded the XML file.

Notes:
I noticed I didn’t have the ā€˜CM’ file as mentioned above as part of my install files, just the other 5 shown. If they are to do with the voice directions then it wouldn’t bother me as I have always muted them, but I’ll give it a try again to see if any difference.

I do use SiriusXM, and was listening to it while I drove around during the update. When I first finished updating (before shutting off), the radio came back on but it went to Channel 1 (the default new promotional channel).
It did keep the presets I had (I did write those down beforehand thinking they’d be gone)

All in all went well.

Was thinking of doing the maps next (stil on original 1.17), but I was looking that 1.19 is almost a year old itself so maybe there would be a 1.20 soon?

Also, went so easy I’m going to do our ā€˜17 Escape because that’s never been touched either. (and definitely the maps for that too)
