I'm not having hot phone issues...the wife and I both have iPhone 8's. Other than that, I too upgraded thinking it might help apple carplay....NOT. Also have the same kind of issues with Amazon Music. So I bought the cable and just need to figure out how to restore the climate screen and add the heated seats to the screen. I'm not too interested in messing with anything else right now. Maybe the bambi light mod.
Hopefully Ford will release the 3.4 update soon but that has been said for many months and many times in here....
I am right with you. My cable just arrived today and I plan on fiddling with it sometime this weekend. Along with the climate controls I am hoping I can turn off the horn honk reminder when you get out of the truck with it running. Our Honda Passport just has a pleasant, not very loud four or five beeps when you do the same thing with it running. Right now whenever I get out to check the mail or something I don't close the door all the way to prevent it from honking.

Sweet! Got my climate control screen back, with heated seat icons:clap:
Set the splash screen to the Ford Performance Cobra and set the fog lights to corner. I'll be disabling the double honk and get bambi in the headlights as soon as I figure out how to edit the line items. It's easy to do backups on all the as built files so make sure you do just in case something goes south. BTW...I had to recycle a couple of times and turn the truck on and off to get the changes to come up. So happy with the results!

You can find most of that on the FORScan wiki. https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/forscan-crowdsourced-wiki.2008/

I got my cable in Wednesday, and now have my climate controls back where they should be. And even though I have heated seats in my Lariat, I've never had the controls on the Sync screen - not on the home screen, and not on a sub climate screen.

To me, the climate was relatively simple - changing some entries from 'disabled' to 'enabled'. But all the documentation I've seen on heated seats, you have to change the 'as built' data. I was hoping to find some other posts that would direct me to the easier enable option.

Curious if you had a similar situation with your Ranger? Or did you always have the heated seat controls in Sync?

I don't think the heated seat icon is part of Sync 3.3, having said that, no I did not have the heated seat icon on the screen before upgrading to Sync 3.4. It too is a enable/disable switch in the program. I did some reading and figured the main thing is backing up your "As Built" files. I believe the APIM file is where the climate control stuff is located. There is a working file for APIM and an "As Built" file. You have to edit the working file and then "write" the new "As Built" file from that. You have to start and stop the service run each time you edit the working file. If you backup the "As Built" files you should be good to go in case you mess something up. I still have MUCH to learn about FORScan.......BE CAREFUL! Also, If you are under warranty your local Ford dealer will fix your screwups with your Sync system :sunglasses:

Not to get off topic too much, but my 2019 XLT with Sync 3.3 (haven't upgraded to 3.4 yet) has the heated seat icons on the home screen. Nothing in the climate control section. I have the 302A, which includes the dual zone climate control (and heated seats obviously). But I don't have navigation, so maybe that's what's different about the home screens in regards to whether there's a heated seat icon or not.
I wasn't sure about 3.3....I have the dual climate too but did not have heated seat icons on any screen. Interesting how many features are just toggles in the program.

As I mentioned in this other thread, I'm in Central Texas, and have little opportunity to use the heated seats. But they are indeed nice when that opportunity exists.

Even though I'd rather have the easy "Enable/Disable" toggle option, I may go ahead and try the "As Built" route - "7D0-01-01 xxxx - xxxx - x3xx This enables the heated seat buttons". That seems to be the only way to get those controls on the Sync screen.

The #1 rule for FORScan is this - BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY CHANGES IN FORSCAN, BACK EACH MODULE UP. (sorry for shouting). If you back up the original config and mess something up, it is as simple as restoring what was there to fix your issue. If this simple step is followed, it is hard to mess things up with FORScan.

My point in posting this is if you back things up, you shouldn't be scared to do the bit edits - if you make a mistake, it is easy to recover from.

I'm from Houston originally, had a place right next to Inks Lake State Park out by Burnet we lived on for 10years. Hey, It gets plenty cold in Central Texas. I've deer hunted in 18 degree weather down there. Don't tell anyone but we have 300 days of sunshine up here in Northern Colorado and the climate is actually quite mild. Hard to believe being only 45 minutes from Cheyenne, Wyoming. Interestingly, as soon as you cross the state line the weather changes...lol. Much colder in Wyoming!
I don't miss the humidity or the BUGS! Yeah...I forgot to mention, we have no bugs here! Crazy as it sounds, most of the mosquitos we have encountered have been in the mountains:frown:
Where ever the moose are....there are skeeters...lol.

my recollection is that there was a setting somewhere in sync to turn the home screen seat icons on/off. (I'm currently on broken sync 3.4 so can't dive in to look.) I had mine off because I didn't see the point in wasting screen space for that when there's a hard button on the console.

My point was just how interesting it is that some have it on the screen from the start and others don't. I've always had mine on the main screen, I didn't had them with Forscan.

I didn't realize there was already a thread about the issue, my bad. Like I said, didn't mean to send us too far off topic.
If you go into the APIM configuration and scroll down to "Seat Button Icons" and select Heated Seats, that will enable the buttons. No need to edit As-built.

FYI. This is the update that should address the Climate domain issues. It’s essentially the same (actually an update) to what MY21’s are shipping with now. My guess is it’s only dealer available at the moment, hence the owner site is not yet showing it. That can happen as it gets rolled out. Usually the owner site updates go active Monday/Tuesday, at least from the past.
Here's @UofMEngineer in another thread. The new 3.4 has been released! It's not showing for me yet, but I'm assuming that it will show in the next week or so.

Here's that thread: https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/ford-officially-releases-sync-3-v3-4-build-20282.10431/page-1

I used syn3 updater to update to 3.4.20282 today. No issues installing. Climate controls are back. Apple Carplay still kinda sucky. Still just randomly stops playing music and says 'live streaming', even though I have the music downloaded to my phone. The other issue I have been having is that it doesn't show the phone is connected right away. Only had a couple of drives so far but it just randomly would not acknowledge that the phone was plugged in until 10 minutes or more into the drive. When this happens, it won't even charge the phone, like the usb ports are not even active. Will have to see if the issue of not showing all the albums under an artist and the 'prompt volume' issue are gone.
