Exactly. Apple brand MagSafe magnetic "puck" stuck to the mount. The magnet is enough to hold the phone (without a case). Hasn't dropped a single time, even going over some gnarly California pot holes.
Very cool. I like how your panel is sort of "half-size". Might be the perfect fit for someone who doesn't want a full bed length panel.
Do you have an estimate of how much this cost you personally, for others that might be interested depending on final cost? I assuming shipping will play into...
I have the OEM swing-out toolbox on the driver's side, and I'm not sure you can install these full bed racks at the same time. I think the mounting bracket for the toolbox interferes with the mounting of the bed racks.
After looking through the BuiltRight pages, I decided to pull the trigger on a full passenger side set. During the presale discount period It cost me $201 out the door (includes $15.99 shipping, and $0 tax). This is quite a bit cheaper than the Valhalla set ($285 + $30 shipping + tax). And I...
I think most people are still waiting for an official solution. Seems like kcederwall08 fabbed up his own prototype version, but no update on if he/she is willing to share plans or produce a limited run.
There are some companies promising bed "molle" panels, but nothing really concrete yet...
FYI - for those wondering - the "CPlay2Air" dongle can not be patched by Apple. They confirmed that there is hardware and software trickery that is mimicking the CarPlay signal to the USB port in the truck. In order for Apple to break this connection, they would also be breaking the protocols...
That's great to hear. I just wanted to pass on some more recent personal experience, since other people posting in the previous 52 pages is what convinced me to buy as well :) Glad it was helpful.
As far as MPG goes - I haven't been through a full tank yet. Working from home 24/7 during COVID...
In case you weren't able to see from the photos - the mount solution I posted about has a goose-neck. Allowing the device to be positioned *mostly* above the vents. And allows air to pass safely around and below the device. And frankly I've run straight mounted vent solutions for years with air...
I couldn't really nail it down to a science. Sometimes the phone would randomly "PING" and I'd look up and the screen showed the fullscreen charging ring as if I had just plugged it in for the first time. The weird thing was that my phone usually showed the charging indicator as if it was...
No, I don't use a case. I use an iPhone 12 case-less so that my MagSafe accessories work better. You can get cases that have the MagSafe built into them from Apple (and soon other 3rd parties too). Or you could do something like THIS inside your existing case maybe?
Also a note for anyone...
I have a 2019 XLT Supercrew. I also updated to 3.4 build 20282 and also did NOT get the XML file. I tried unplugging the USB drive multiple times, restarting the truck, leaving the USB drive in for a long time, nothing worked. Every time the truck just re-ran the installation, I followed the...
Just a bit of personal experience here.
I went to install the Soft Shift Performance Tune 91-93 - and I kept getting an error part way through the install. Warning lights were flashing on the dash. And the tuner kept saying "must recover ECU" and it would try to re-write all 95 blocks for the...
Okay take this with a grain of salt... But I just contacted the Ford customer support asking about the missing XML file. Seems as though the Truck should automatically update the Ford owner website with the new software version after a period of time over-the-air.
Any tricks to getting the XML file to populate? I went through the software install, cycled the ignition, got the prompt that said to unplug USB and that the install was complete. Verified by the new interface, and also the system says "3.4_20282". But when I plug the USB back into the computer...
Would you be willing to share more details? I think this would be a great option for people who don't want the whole side of their bed covered like the Valhalla kit. How much did it cost to get this made? Do you think it would be worth doing a small group buy / small manufacturing run?
Not...
Yes, and Yes. Bulbs only go in one way. Other members have tested the Auxito 1:1 bulbs, and the beam pattern does not seem to be impacted too much even though they're not positioned at 9/3. Mine are like 10/4 on one side and 2/8 on the other.
I think you're misinformed. The transmission software is always "learning". The goal is to constantly make minor adjustments for smoother shifts and better power transfer in various conditions. This process even happens every time you unplug (or replace) your battery.
No matter what tuning...
Oof, that's even more than I thought.
How's the towing tune for every day driving? Is it an 89 octane tune? And do you still get pretty good performance gains?
