While I was completing the paperwork for the Ranger, the Finance guy and I were chatting about cars and bikes.

He had a Focus RS and was absolutely effervescent about the performance and service from Livernois!

They're the real-deal. Looking forward to the upgrade.
Doug, you'll love their tune. It's great that they give you all 5 tunes to try out and let you decide which one works best for your driving style. Not like some others where you only get 1 or 2 tunes and then have to pay for more.

I know I sound like a broken record but their customer service really is fantastic! No matter who answers the phone they're all super helpful. I only have one regret....I wish I did it sooner!

I installed the 93 tune last night and this truck is quick!
I updated mine to the 91-93 also. I've had some vacation time so my driving routine hasn't been the same so I can't say if MPG changed or not but the fun sure has. I'll probably switch back to 87-89 of gas prices jump up again to the over $3 a gallon for regular.

My gas mileage has definitely improved. I made a round trip today that usually takes almost a half tank. Today it used just over a quarter tank. It’s still shifting kind of hard but I will be taking a trip to Kentucky tomorrow to see my dad and check my deer stand which is about 120 miles one way. Hopefully it will learn my driving habits by then.

Okay okay, I can't take it anymore. Everyone has this and I don't..serious fomo happening here.

I was going to go with FP tune because of warranty but from what I've read most just flash back to stock before taking it in?

Four questions, any Canadian drivers have Livernois tune and how was shipping to Canada?

Anyone know any coupon codes??

and finally my stupid question: Do you have to leave it plugged in all the time or do you "Flash" and then remove it as it doesn't say in the online instructions.

Cheers everyone..

I'm also interested in getting their programmer and flash, however the price for us Canadians doesn't justify it. $500 programmer x1.34% exchange = 670.00 plus 7% GST = $717.00 PLUS Brokerage and shipping on top yet(possible Provincial Tax as well). It suddenly becomes an $800.00 + programmer ! To just gain a couple Liters/100 kms difference makes it really hard to justify !

Hi Mike, Agreed... (psst. GST is 5% tho.. :lipssealed: )

5Stage is more expensive and doesn't even ship to Canada and the FP is >$800 and you have to use 91+ Octane, hence my looking at Livernois. The Livernois site says $531.68 USD shipped to my door via UPS. so that must include duties/taxes. I've sent them an online chat question and am awaiting a reply.. If no extras that would be $700 CAD total.

Ultimately the HP and TQ gain would be fab, but I really do not like how this stock tranny shifts. You go from Nice power to a fat slug as it skips gears, brutal. Sport mode does deal with this but then I find it shifting at too high an RPM for my normal daily driving. One thing, ppl have mentioned is driving in "trailer" mode which I need to research more. Any insight here from members would be appreciated.

$700 CAD does buy a lot of gas, even here in Canada where I pay 1.44 for 91 Octane per litre. (Thats $4.16 USD/gallon!! for our American friends. :explode: ..*grumbles everytime I read someone having to pay $3/gallon for premium*)

Hmmm...way to go Mike, now I'm back to being on the fence...

1. Whenever I go in for service, I flash mine back to stock and had no problems whatsoever

2. Sorry, I’m in the US.

3. No coupon codes that I’m aware of, but they did have a sale ($100 off) for a while. That’ll be the best deal in terms of savings.

4. After you “flash” the tuner, there’s no need to leave it plugged in.

Hope this helps.

Can you Canadians have a friend in the States send you the tuner or does customs charge tax when imported?

Any idea on fuel economy change? Hear so many mixed reviews - some get more mileage, some less. Like everything else on the interweb - hard to know what's the real truth.

We'll pay brokerage/Duty plus our Fed GST of 5% when imported. I've had someone try to send me something in an unmarked box sent personally - they caught it and dinged me !

It all depends on the driver. Really, as long as you maintain the same driving habits pre and post tune, you should get a good idea of whether or not you get better fuel economy. From my personal experience, I’ve gotten better fuel economy with the tune. However, it won’t help much if you’re always mashing the pedal, which is hard to avoid when you get those gains... but ideally your mileage SHOULD get better.

I live 4 mins from US border and before the damn CV19 I would just go p/u from my post office box. Unfortunately, now the border is closed because, well you know.

I sold something on a harley forum to a guy that had it shipped to a ups store on the border an he drove down to pick it up. Less headache
