My apple trees seemed to love this spring & summer and I now have a lot of apples hanging in the tree. Too bad they're tiny ones due to very little rain in here. Yesterday I crushed a batch and pressed them to juice and though that there must be an easier way.

Therefore today I took my Ranger and drove to local electronics store and bought a slow juicer.

When I came back I set the juicer up, stepped out from the house, collected a 5 liter bucket of apples, plugged the seeds out and tried it out. Sure enough, in less than 20 mins I got ~2 liters of apple juice without any mess.

Seems to be bit easier just to store the apples and make the juice every few days instead of crushing, pressing, boiling & storing.
I bet it’s delicious! You may know this trick or might want to try it…

When I was a Business Banking Account Manager at a large Canadian bank, I approved an operating line of credit for a small orchardist. They were very grateful and at harvest time, brought me a basket of bright red apples.

Interestingly, each apple had my bank’s logo on its skin. It wasn’t printed or screened on them but was naturally occurring. Each logo was perfect and slightly speckled like the rest of the apple’s skin, but green. I was at a complete loss as to how they did it.

The Trick:
Earlier in the season, when the apples were still green but full size, they placed small, clear plastic stickers, with the logo printed in black, on a dozen or so apples on one of their trees. As the apples ripened and turned red, the stickers were removed to reveal green “tan lines” in the design of the logo. I thought it was so cool.

Neat trick. :)

Luckily I just got few trees (few of early, mid, late & winter) and not an orchard. Most of the apples usually end up being carted to forest and eaten by white-tails.

However there's few hundred small orchards near by. I think the orchards had somewhere around 200,000 trees in total.

Makes me Homesick …I lived in Miami for 35 years …
Same here, my wife's from Miami and I lived there for 11 years. I miss our small dive boat and really miss being able to get into that bathtub warm water.

Can't do that now, up here in New Hampshire!

PS - also probably can no longer swim thanks to damper arms ...

Just stay in salt water ? . May be time to get damper arms classified as a disability.

It's arm not arms. You'll still have one good one so it doesn't fall under the disability act just yet. :muscle:?

I am a civilian mechanic for the Army here at Fort Campbell, I had to bring my 19 Ranger into our shop to hook it up to an Army trailer that for some reason had a 12 RV flat 7 pin light cable on it instead of the military style connection. Best part the guy actually doing the work is a GMC guy and had to ask the Ford for help. It's a good day to drive a Ranger.

Couldn’t just sit at the house on my 60th birthday so, of course, I drove up into the mountains to get in a little peace and some fishing. Even treated myself to a new Richardson Cap at the fly shop on the way up. Drove 5 hours round trip to fish for 2 . Well worth it!

This spot, on a straight line, is only 28 miles from the house…72 miles and 2.5 hours to drive. Big part of the drive was Cherohala Skyway. Just after hitting the TN/NC line I turned off on to the forest service road to get to my destination. I lucked out because the forest service was just finishing clearing trees that came down in the last storm.
