I did a couple things to my Ranger today to improve its look and function. Thought I would share

This morning I had all the windows tinted. I had them add 5% tint to all the back windows to black it out and put 75% tint (ceramic to block UV) in the two front windows. I think it looks perfect. Oh, I also de badged the vinyl 4x4 sticker from the bed. Those things look so cheep to me.

Then after I got my truck back home, I installed my Bakflip MK4 bed cover.

I know there is a ā€œwhat did you getā€ thread but I figured we could start a what did you do to your Ranger today thread because I have enjoyed them on other forums...

so Iā€™ll start off with this...

I got some metallic gray vinyl off amazon to try and match the factory Magnetic gray so I could wrap some pieces on the interior. So for a little test I did the door trim below the window switches to see how i like it. Iā€™m happy with how it turned out, itā€™s not a perfect match (little light) but I think it looks good and breaks up all the black on the door.

What do you guys think?

That vinyl looks good! I took mine on a 450km round trip to Toronto and back with my in-laws, wife and daughter. It was a little cramped for four plus a car seat but we made it! I also put my 4ā€ stubby antenna on when I got home.

Thinking about getting an inverter to wire in behind the seat. Im annoyed that the factory one is only 150w as id like to charge my milwaukee 12ah batteries but would take days with a charger rated to 150w.

Does Milwaukee make a 12V plug in charger? I know Dewalt makes one but it would still likely charge pretty slow.

They do, but its only 2.3 amps on the 18v side. Would take a dogs age to fill the 200+ Wh that the batteries hold. I did a lot of digging and a big inverter is the only real solution.

Sounds like youā€™ve done your homework. Iā€™ve never looked into it, I always just end up bringing way more batteries than I need for a job!

Well this is for my chainsaw hah. I use it for camping and off road emergencies. I have two 12ah batteries now but id like to renew them when out for a week or more.

I hear you there. You must be cutting a lot of wood! I use 9ā€™s in my Dewalt chainsaw and they will last a long time.

Last time I was out I dropped two 80ft aspens and had them bucked with two batteries.
Iā€™ve got a little more aggressive chain on and itā€™s a little wider chisel that the standard 3/8ā€™s LP.

If you are cutting that much wood that is that large, I'm wondering why you don't use a gas chain saw? I use my Stihl for everything - I can get more gas if needed without waiting for a recharge. I love that saw. I have a 40 year old Stihl that still works perfectly - I just have a hard time getting parts for it, and it is REALLY heavy. I bought a new Stihl 2 years ago and love it.

I would of asked me the same question hah! I have an MS251 that I usually play with. However, I like to try new things and this m18 chainsaw has really impressed me. I like not having the standard issue 2 stroke stench when I go to bed camping and not having to keep another can of gas on the truck is pretty nice. The Milwaukee is compact, has the power to save my butt in the woods and itā€™s always ready to go.

Until youā€™ve tried one of the new battery powered saws you wouldnā€™t believe how well they work and how long a battery lasts! I know they wonā€™t replace a gas saw for everything but they do a damn good job for what they are. This thread got off topic in a hurry! Lol
