Every time someone mentions how pretty the leaves in a New England Fall are, I say to myself "You don't have the rake the damn things". lol

I dropped my Ranger off at a local body shop to have a self inflicted:mad: door ding repaired. I would not have bothered except this truck is too good looking to ride around with said ding. I opened the driver door on the very corner of a concrete utility vault. Pissed me off so much it chipped off the paint and nearly pierced the sheet metal

Today was a fine Ohio fall day to go to the dump. This is material from a treehouse I’m working on getting out of my yard. This is my second load, and I still have half of the treehouse to cut down.

Picked up this 63 galaxie 500 on Monday. 352 with a cruiseomatic. I am guessing total weight was around 6500lbs. It definitely pushed the truck down hills. Told uhaul I was loading a mustang haha.

63 1/2 as you probably know. Reason I know is it's probably my favorite classic car. It was one of my dear old dads many race cars. :)

I remember them from back in the day but I just can’t imagine what that power train goes through!

Hmmm, maybe this should be in the Overlanding section. ?

They’re my favourite part. I even took a close up so I could reverse-engineer his mod technique for my rig.

I also now know the best way to wire in additional grille lights. ?

That looks like a great idea!
Load all the leaves in the back of the pickup and drive around until they are all gone. :like:
That will be better than bagging them all.

I actually tried that once, It didn't work all that well lol. Only the top 1/3 of them blew out.
Anything beats bagging, even tossing them into the bed of a truck is better. I have a local recycling place that takes trees/leaves/grass thank god.

Finished up installing a trailer connector. Maybe its my old age.. Drilling 50mm hole in a brand new car would have creeped me out back in the day.
Also while back there, filed a new indexing groove so the spare tyre lock can orient “upside down”. I want its cover flap to hang downward if it comes unsnapped.
Anyway,
Finished up with trailer wiring to tow a garden tractor about 250 km to Seattle.
A couple years now I hadn’t driven anything that far at highway speed and not yet driven the Ranger at night either.
Loaded, the trailer is about 750kg. Another 150kg tractors extra wheels (duals), wheel weights, and misc. tools in the Rangers bin.
As far as performance, No problems getting up to & keeping speed or handling the job.
Fwiw,
My experience limited. I’ve used plenty of 250+ hp vehicles. But none have weighed less than 5000kg. Aside from my motorcycle Ranger is strongest power to weight ratio vehicle I ever used.

The horns and fog lights probably put it at GVWR.
