Sorry I maybe worded that wrong.
Essentially, since the handle doesnt work, tailgate could be considered always locked.
One channel of his remote unlatches the tailgate.
My friend did a similar thing.
But just disabled the tailgate handle.
the handle just flops loose as if it's broken. The remote does the unlocking.
I suggested one step further.
Connect a switch to the tailgate handle what actuates a noisemaker for a short duration.
For years I always used a Tirfor. Needed it once per year or so.
I hate to confess. Now days I'd probably not have the 'nads to work the bar very long...
This is my solution. I had the bit of a key made then attached that to a piece of Micarta as the bow. It sort of looks like a wierd small screwdriver.
it's hidden in a plainsight sort of manner on the exterior.
it's my back up plan if somehow my keyfob is missing.
I leave mine in all the time.
it's surprising how many people bang into it when parked.
I tow across town about once per month. Between uses, I'll wipe off the grease and give the ball a quick spray of satin black.
I don't live in a rust area.. But since the hitch fits fairly snug, for good...
Presently I replaced with plastic "christmas tree" fasteners.
They're good for at least a couple removal cycles.
My oilchanges basically twice per year, it's no bother when a new fastener is needed.
Sad !
That's just nasty & evil.
All the more evidence technician is appropriate title for that wanker.
Fwiw,
Were I needing a new drain plug, would just buy one of the same thread size but a hex head.
For good measure perhaps magnetic type.
That's great thing about AM radio. Signals can travel huge distances.
Back in the day, I'd listen to KGO SanFrancisco while near Whitehorse YT.
Another common vehiclular AM purpose is DOT transmitting information iin select areas of construction, disaster, etc.
Maybe those will change over...
Fwiw.
I have great memories of road trips out in the middle of nowhere and being stuck with only AM religous or Spanish stations perfectly clear.
Then when in that small rural town. AM was often a low wattage locally owned station announcing irrigation canal schedules and storm warnings.
I...
Fwiw,
I wanted a spare key to hide with no fob.
From the Locksmith I had her cut just a blade.
I pinned that to a custom bow.
It stays hidden somewhere on the chassis but fairly easy to access.
The switch is built into hood latch mechanism.
At minimum, You'd have to remove the big plastic cover piece to get to it.
As I understand, it's a normally closed circuit.
It's probably simplest to just connect right at the hoodlatch. But if you have wiring schematic or alot of time to track...
Appears you not familiar with California Central Valley...
Anyway,
Last I known, a fog lamp is to be located on the drivers side (customary to the country) and a distinct distance from the regular brakelight.
Interesting, it appears fitted with rear foglamp. I wish my US 'spec Ranger had that too !
In the video, It being illuminated maybe have to do with the car operating its emergency lamps.
The quick anser is yes.
Alternator can be damaged.
In general, lithium battery will accept as much current as available. This can overload an alternator and overheat the battery itself.
There needs to be a means to limit the charging current to a level whats safe for the alternator and limit...
This is what I use.
EccoTemp L5 waterheater is the best 120$ I ever spent !
The thing is rigged up with a milk crate and bbq tank. I wheel it out wherever it's needed.
It gets pretty cold & snowy here, fortunately roads don't get salted.
Anyway, hotwater is a treat to wash the car or dog...
Fwiw,
I keep a tyre plug kit and method to pump up in all my vehicles.
Depends on the circumstance. If I can just pump up enough to get home, I'll usually wait to demount and patch in my driveway. But If its not nasty weather and reasonably safe place, I may take time to use a plug. Either way...
