Absolutely, and move some the weight to the nose if you can Caravans almost always tow better with a bit of a weight bias to the front. 8-10% of the trailer mass is good.Definitely get the nose of the trailer DOWN....that's causing most of the sway problems. Right now, the way it's set up...in a panic stop your looking at a jackknife occurring. Stopping on a wet road....all bets are off !!!!!
Yeah, it's a bit oversize for the Ranger but I've towed almost as big, and heavier. But as I emphasized, get the nose down.....for safety's sake do not tow for any distance till you take care of it.
