Lot of combos/numbers out there, was wondering if the 265/70r17 tire will fit on a 17x9 +20 offset wheel without lift or modifying crash bar on an FX4?

While it's not Guaranteed, all of my research says if your tire OD is under 31.5" then you don't have any worries.

32" is pushing the edge of rubbing. (depending on width and offsets etc.)

Your option is 31.6" OD, 10.4" Width, and 35mm (1.3") further out.

Based on everything I've read and all the fitments I've looked at, you SHOULD be A-OK without trims/mods.

Maybe a teeny rub, full lock to the right, on the driver's side front bar plastic shroud.

Your option is basically what I'm going to do at Christmas. after i've put some good use on my tires.

so from what I am reading I can put 275/70/17 with a 2 1/2 level kit with not problem? I already bought the Rough Country kit just waiting on the shop to call me to take it in next week, I think I am going to go with the new Nittos Terra Grapplers G2's
Hello there, I was wondering if you ever got this completed? I was wondering the same thing about the 275s if they hit the spindle without the wheel spacer. I pick my new ranger up Monday and was thinking about going with a similar setup. I might play it safe and go with the 265s.

Looks awesome! I'm glad to see someone with the silver 6 shooter wheels with different tires. I REALLY want to get wheels someday but I definitely want to upgrade my tires first and was wondering what larger tires would look like on my stock wheels. I'm guessing you're not running any spacers, right? How's the inside clearance? I plan on going with 265/70/17 on my stock wheels.

I'm running the same size (265) and they fit perfect,no rubbing. You can add spacers if you want to offset the tire some but there not needed with this size. It fills the wheel well in good without losing a lot of mpg's like the 285's. The 285's look really good too but now you're into cutting the crash bars and getting aftermarket replacements.

i posted more of these in the other tire size thread but here is a sample.

255/75R17 Duratrac 32” diameter, 40lbs each.

Yes Stock. Spacers are... not a good idea, and may not be legal in your state.

Nice! I just wasn't sure if the Sport wheels have a lower offset than the XLT regular wheels. They look like they're a lower offset but probably not by much. :like:

As far as I know all of the wheels are the same offset.

A little surprised more people aren’t running 16” wheels, they seem popular with Tacoma’s and 4 Runners. I have SVC leveling collars, and some 16” 0 offset wheels, just ordered some BFG K02’s 265/75r/16 32”, hopefully get them next week. Currently running the stock duelers 255/70/16, a very flimsy feeling tire, but not terrible

Those BFGs are going to totally change the truck, they’ll look great on there!

I think it's because Ford doesn't offer a "cool" 16" wheel from the factory. Most Ranger owners are just going to get the same size wheel to keep it consistent imo. Toyota's TRD Pro wheels are 16" so lots of a Taco owners are going to stick with or step down to 16".

For me, it's a tough decision on what size tires to go with. I have 265/65-18 ordered and sitting at Discount Tire but don't think one inch taller with a 2,5: lift is enough to notice a big enough difference to justify the over $1K cost, at least in pics I see here. I guess I have to see the 65 set up series in person.
Going bigger involves cutting crash bars or Fabtechs, speedo calibration and I have a 2WD. So it's only aesthetics for me.

Decisions,decisions...:)

I personally think the 17" is a great middle ground for our chassis. 15-16" look too old school mud bogger to me and anything above 18' is just donk. I think 17" provides the best balance of aesthetics and ride quality. I also think 265/70/17 looks perfect as far as wheel/tire ratio goes compared to the fender openings.

I was worried that a 2” lift and a 1” taller tire wouldn’t make a huge difference either. However when i did the install it was a huge difference. I now love the way my truck looks and honestly it looks better in person than in pics. I think if you go this route you will be pleasantly surprised.
