No, I did not. I neglected this could be an issue, I will try that, thx!
If that doesn't fix it, also check to make sure you have the latest voice pack installed. I've run into items before where someone updated from v3.3 to v3.4, but only did the apps package. That'll break USB play commands for sure given several changes made along the way.

I think Sync likes Android phones better than iPhones.

I seem to have more issues with this iPhone than I did with my Galaxy S8.

This morning I had to do the 2-finger salute to resolve an issue where it would only allow me to adjust the Prompt volume and not the Audio volume.

I know, First World Problems, but still annoying.

I am going to update from 3.4 20136 to 21194 via USB. Since the Ford site didn't say to turn the engine off, only that you can drive once the update starts, I guess I can take it out for a spin, or just stand around and admire the rumble of the mighty 4 cylinder EB, lying in wait....

Today when I turned on the vehicle, I noticed that my Sync 3.4 21194 settings had reverted back to default as SiriusXM channels were not recognized and said I needed a subscription (took about 3 minutes for SiriusXM to work again), the display background changed, time forwarded three hours, phone not recognized and the touchscreen beep re-enabled itself.

When trying to change my settings back to the way they were, I noticed that I cannot change the display brightness. The option is greyed out. I've tried Auto, Day and Night with no change. Any ideas what has gone wrong and how to fix it?

If I pull the key out, the display brightness re-enables and allows me to change it, BUT when I put the key back in and turn on the vehicle, the brightness appears to go back to full intensity and I can't change it. I've tried Auto, Day and Night with no change. Any ideas what has gone wrong and how to fix it?
Have you tried a "soft reset"?

I just tried that (if referring to pressing the volume and the next track buttons at the same time for 5 seconds) and it reset, but same issue where the display brightness is greyed out.

That is just rebooting Sync no different than turning off the truck and powering it back up.

Go into Sync settings under general not sure which sub menu (I think it's About Sync) and there will be a menu choice for "Master Reset". That will reset everything back to the factory defaults and it will clear up most weird behavior. I do it after every Sync update for good measure.

I just performed a master reset. Same issue. I noticed something else, if I turn on my headlights with the key in ignition, I can change the brightness. So, to sum up, the only way I can change the brightness is if it is nighttime and the headlights are on. If not, the display brightness option is greyed out. Is this normal behavior and I haven't noticed this before or have I gone crazy?

Can't say. In the 6 years I have owned Sync3 equipped vehicles I have never had a reason to want to change the brightness. It defaults to auto brightness and I have never changed that setting.

Just an update for anyone that cares: I think that this is an intended feature of version 3.4. It will only allow you to change the display brightness at night when the headlights are on. Previous versions didn’t have this restriction. I just never noticed this until I had to re-do all my settings after Sync screwed up and reset the settings back to default.
