Hey Y'all!

I have a basic 4x4 with front sensors and it currently has the air dam. I bought a OEM skid plate off someone with the FX4 package. Will there be any issue installing this on my truck? Should just bolt right on, right?

Trying to make a poor mans FX4 kit.

If you have the factory tow hooks with the brackets on the bottom of them they should fit. I cannot get a picture of the hooks now maybe someone can upload an image. The front edge of the plate mounts on them and the back mounts to a cross member which should be the same.

I’m interested in doing this also on my XLT 4x4…

I know the FX4 has 2 small air dams that go with the FX4 skid plate.

Pretty sure I've seen a few do it before.

Search function is acting goofy for me atm else I'd dig up the threads.

Hmmm. I'll try to search, not sure I've seen those. Might need to ask Ford for part numbers

Yes, but not simply plug ‘n’ play for the FX2 our American friends can buy. Also, those little FX4 air dams are not needed to make the skid plate fit - they serve a different purpose.

You can install the skid with the full air dam, it's a little tight to get it on but is possible. I installed the full air dam on my fx4, I ended up trimming the dam and leaving my fx4 mini dams on too.

Im not finding the part numbers for the mini air dam.

I already installed the parts. I took some pics and I''ll post up a little guide. Removing the air dam was not as simple as I expected.

The air dam was a PITA. They did not make that for easy removal.

Hmmm... I got the (FX4) skid plate for points from Ford- I have an STX. Everything was pretty straightforward on the install. I opted to remove the big air dam and not get/install the two small air dams...
