I have been happily driving a 2019 Ranger Lariat bought new, and my inclination, if it were up to me, would be to keep driving it past five years and 100,000 miles before trading it in for something newer, like we always do. My wife does not drive, but we must agree on major purchases, such as automobiles, to go forward. She has always liked the Ranger from the passenger's seat. So, here we are at five years but only 35,000 miles, and the wife starts noticing Broncos on the road and thinking how much more inside-cabin space they would have for all our junk without sacrificing any of the ruggedness and off-road capabilities of the Ranger. She tells me to arrange a test drive, which I do, that is, me driving and her riding shotgun. She loved the Bronco, especially the suspension, the seats, the storage space, and the in-cabin tech, and wanted to trade the Ranger in for one right away. I love the Ranger and would have bought a new one, but being nagged by your wife to get a new 2024 Bronco is not a bad place to be, I tell myself. So we did a Build and Price with the sales representative, and the wife had no problem with my picking out an Outer Banks with four doors, a High/Lux Package, the 2.7 V6, etc., all the goodies that I would have put on my dream Ranger of the future, which is, apparently, not to be. To make a long story short, we have a build date of May 12 and look forward to joining the Bronco Nation sometime in the fall. I have been happily participating in this Ranger Forum since 2019, even before our Ranger was built, and I want to thank everyone involved for all the mutual support, good advice, and bad jokes...

very nice! not trying to get rid of you sooner but did you try the Ford website for inventiory nearby? there are a lot of Bronco's available around here you may be able to find it on a lot! FYI you can actually edit the URL to 200 for a 200 mile radius if you willing to travel a bit for the right one.

Good Luck!

I have a 2022 Ranger Lariat Tremor and my wife has a 2024 Bronco Outer Banks w/ 2.3 + 4.23 gears, so I have experience with both vehicles.

First, it is obvious when you drive both that they are on the same platform. They drive similarly, though there is no doubt the Ranger rides a little better on pothole stricken roads. I have the FPP tune on my Ranger and it is noticeably faster, I would bet it is on par with the 2.7 untuned. The Bronco is a lot louder in the cabin, obviously with the top off but also with the hard top on. The interior of the Bronco also feels a little cheaper -- I think it is a consequence of trying to waterproof the interior. My Ranger also gets about 10% better gas mileage than when I drive the Bronco, abot 20% better than when my wife does. She doesn't know how to let off the throttle as you approach a red light or stop sign... One other difference is the audio, we both have the B&O stereo but I feel that there was again a compromise made to water proof the interior and also to lighten the doors, so the audio isn't quite as good in the Bronco.

Overall, it is very nice to go topless but otherwise I enjoy driving my Ranger more.

That's way cool Marc! I really like that color which they didn't have when I purchased my 20 Ranger otherwise I would probably have done that instead of the Iconic Silver. I am very Jealous.

Good on you! :like:

I've been trying to get my wife to give up her old Toyota for years without luck.

I guess she really likes it.

I like to think of that as not a change of vehicle, but a continuation of the journey. It’s a bittersweet transition, but one filled with anticipation for the roads ahead. Here’s to new memories and the endless possibilities that the Bronco holds!
