Hopefully, the install can be done DIy. $2000 is a lot, plus shipping and install will easily be over $3000 in total. Want this real bad, but not for over $3k. If I can snag it for $2k and do the install myself I'll probably grab one!
I'm not 100% about pricing, but it seems like the tank with shipping would fall around the $2k mark. $1700 for the tank and $350 shipping? Again, not 100% on their pricing.

LRA on IG said approx $2100 just for the tank. My local LRA dealer said approx $300 shipping and $700-800 install.

My question is how much clearance is lost. With that large of an increase I'm betting it hangs down a bit.
That "Ranger Lean" gonna be worse too.
Maybe add an extra leaf to the LR or the OME heavy load suspension.
Be convenient for me because I drive a lot and even at 20 mpg I have to fuel up every 4-5 days.
Lotta money though (says the guy whose wife just booked another Caribbean cruise for next year).
Eh, email from Norwegian today with a deal that was too good to pass up.

Has anyone factored in the added weight of both the tank and gas and what it'll do to the mpg? I'm sure it'll take a small hit but for $3,000+ I don't see how this is cost effective? Personally I'd strap a couple Roto Packs down and be done with it.

That's great, in theory. When I am loaded with all my camp gear, I have *extremely* limited space available. I can strap things to the outside of the bed rack, but... ugh. Too overland bro for me, at least until I buy them... lol

Plus, there is a convenience factor here. Fill one thing and be done. I'd love this for long trips, especially off grid trips where gas stations aren't easy to come by. I want to run the Pony Express trail next year and there is a section of 500 miles without access to a station. That means I would have to run the 18 gallon tank and carry another 18 gallons of fuel. That takes up a lot of space.

Or just get an Eff One Fiddy with the payload package that gets you a 36 gallon tank.
A gallon of gas weighs 6 lb. as I recall, so you're carrying an extra 120 lb. starting out.

120 lbs is definitely not a deal breaker. Especially when it takes the stress out of finding the remote gas stations that require your first born and your soul to fill up. F-150s are too wide and long for some switch backs and back country roads.

That is a bit steep, I spent about $400 that took me to 32 gallons, can't see me needing something that expensive, but I'm sure some will find it effective

Retired, work is a four letter word.
That's to rich for me, I rarely need extra gas, but do carry 2X5 Gal cans strapped against the bed headboard along with traction boards and a tool box when I go offroad, that's an extra 1/2 tank and works for me. Be interesting to see how they are going to fit a tank that much larger without decreasing ground clearance.

Are they using a bladder inside that thing? Kinda suspect not.
I'd expect some serious baffles at least. If I wanted double capacity enough this seems like an appropriate price but filling it would bring tears every time. I think a lot of gas pumps - or charge cards - cap gas fill-up (or did once upon a time) at $100 a pop.

I'd wonder about handling too and whether further suspension mods would be a good idea.

A 29 gallon tank or one with just 50% more capacity than stock would have been a nice factory option and I expect an aftermarket with those capacities would have cost as much.

I'm impressed really.

This is a prototype tank. LRAM are using this tank to figure out bracket placement, hose length, etc. They are looking to have tanks build and in the warehouse sometime in October-December. They are working on an install video as well. The goal is to have this install take 3-5 hours.
Excellent, thanks for answering my questions! Did they remove the bed for installation?

Hopefully folks can refrain from letting this new thread devolve into the old thread by complaining about the cost and ground clearance over and over again.

Obviously it is not for everyone (spending $2-3k on additional fuel capacity) but for some of us, this is absolutely worth it. Obviously LRA determined from their market research that there is enough of us to warrant making a small batch of these. I wouldn't be surprised if the Bronco and Ranger 6G tanks will be similar geometry due to the similarities in the frame design of those vehicles.

Very excited to hear your feedback as you drive with it. Interested to see if you are able to reprogram the fuel tank size in the ECM as well and if not, what the computer calculates for range and if it is able to adapt at all.

The bed stays on. I will post updates as I get them.

I was able to use FORscan to update the fuel capacity before dropping the truck off. With 1/2 tank of fuel my range was over 400 miles. I will run a couple tanks full to empty to get a better feel for DTE accuracy.

I crawled under the truck to look at the fuel tank for the first time. Was surprised the skid plate is plastic. I am impressed they were able to gain so much capacity, there doesn't look like a lot of room up there.

I saw in another thread the shipping is $350 to any FedEx freight terminal so shipped price is hopefully around $2,450.

Guessing this modification will void the Emissions Component Warranty. Wondering what Ford will say about the rest of my 10 year extended warranty.
