Here is where the cut will happen. Well not really a cut more like a weld grind. I’ll grind out the old bead and pull the frame apart. It actually slides in a few inches.

Interesting modification. Not sure I could talk myself into doing that.

On a different note, I see you have a '69 Cobra. I had one of those. 428 CJ Ram Air, top loader, high nodular iron 9". Hard to launch but if you were anywhere near the other car when you hit 3rd gear, the other car was toast. The only things I ever did to it was to swap the Holley 735 out for a Holley 750 double pumper, and took the junk Ford shifter out and replaced it with a Hurst. Lots of good memories.

Good luck with your mod.

It took me all of 10 minutes to talk myself into it. As far as the cobra, it originally came with the scj “drag pack”. All that is gone now and some freak stuff replaced it. That project won’t be done for quite some time.

The way the frames are engineered it definitely would be tough to safely stretch at home. Would really be a nice factory option. Good deal on a bed with taillights.

No official word yet on a Ranger SuperCrew Long Box, but both a 6G SuperCab and SuperCrew LB were seen testing in '22, with NA trim. the SCab has been rumored for late 2023.

About the only thing that could tempt me would be a scab raptor. Until then I’ve got no desire for the new gen.

So far I know of two that were done. 1 was a box truck conversion the other a accident that was turned into a flatbed on chevy 63s. It doesn't look too complex of a swap but expensive yea. You'd need new brake lines, parking lines, Stretch harness, driveshaft, as well as bed. I was just curious if this one had gotten anywhere to see how they look with a factory box.
