I guess you were right Sid there's starting to more and more of these. I'll make this a sticky and a Wiki post so people can add to the first post instead of sifting through the whole thread.

Hopefully this list doesn't become as long as the deleted items thread. :frown: Or worse all the damper threads! :surprised:

Starting to wonder now if the valve bodies in these things is the real reason they’re failing. Once that acts up the clutches and other parts start getting slammed and the disintegration begins.

First dealer I took my truck to tried to pin my issues on the valve body (without bothering to open the transmission and diagnose the problem, as I later learned). The second dealer actually took a look and found way more, which I shared in another post. Truck has been fine recently, after months of the transmission acting a fool.

From reading here, other Ford forums and several transmission specialist's websites it seems there are a few key components and/or conditions that bring about failure in the 10R80. I regurgitated some of that information here.

There are a few aftermarket shops addressing component issues and some owners are modding their transmissions (the temperature control being one in the Mustang forums) but I'm starting to think we are aggregating information that applies to our 5G trucks specifically - mostly because practically all 10R80's prior to 2023 (according to the TSB in my post link above) have the problematic CDF.
