After reading the post about driving in Sport mode, I did that yesterday.

Ran an errand to return a leaking U.S. Jack, picked up Chipotle for dinner, and gave $20 to a soul at an intersection that was truly "there but the grace of God go I".

That intersection is an on ramp for I-95 and it starts as two lane and merges into one midway up the ramp. A Ram 1500 was in the outer turn lane (undoubtedly to avoid eye contact with the above said unfortunate older gentleman).

The light turned green and we both turned onto the ramp. Once on the ramp he floored it to get in front of me. I let him get one length ahead and then unleashed Soupie.

Man, it was juvenile but it felt so good and I hit 83 mph after passing him by several truck lengths.

Boy, I love this Ranger!

Then, I chirped the tires a few times when off the highway.

Did I say that I love this Ranger! =D

how Soupie felt:

On vacation. Loving it. Great time. Don't head back until Sunday. Gonna enjoy every single day of vacation until then. :handsinair: Truly dread returning to work next Monday. :puke:

All that said... I cannot wait for the drive back!:like::clap: Yep. Luv'n me some Ranger.

Warden would kick my ass if she knew I was excitedly thinking about the drive back...

There is probably some fluff in here.?
Let's be careful....this is a family oriented forum....
Talking about "fluff", "fluffy", "fluffing", "snuffing fluff", may be socially unacceptable.

I always refer to my Ranger as "She;" "...She needs a spa day," or,"Prettiest girl in the parking lot/ramp/driveway/drive-thru/world," etc.

I saw a 1973 Gran Torino at a car show recently. Nice, but not jaw dropping. The owner had a poster describing the various build combinations, starting with the total Gran Torinos built for the '73 MY. It went on down the list of equipment, powertrains etc, the number getting smaller and smaller as the combination got more obscure; 400cid Cleveland w/4 spd manual, am/fm monural radio, block heater, etc. until it was determined that it was a 1 of 1; a jen-u-wyne Unicorn. I ordered mine out and it's an uncommon build, mostly. I'd like to find out how rare my Ranger is, If it might in fact be a unicorn.

Back in them there olden days you ordered a car, and then went down an order sheet, checking off each individual item you wanted, from engine to under dash tissue holder....that's what makes the older vehicles so "individual".
I ordered several new cars back then, 64 Falcon Sprint, 69 Pontiac GTO Ram Air 4, 73 Olds Delta 88 Hardtop, and all were ordered with options checked off a separate option sheet.
Our Rangers....nothing rare at all, no matter how you ordered it, as most of the options come with "packages", and we all have the same engine/tranny combo's......just not a lot of individual items/options you can get.

Not just the car world. "Back in da day" when ordering a Class 8 truck you'd spec the obvious stuff, engine, trans, axles, etc.... but you'd also spec the brand of starter, fan clutch, wheels, fifth wheel, air compressor, tire size, tire brand desired, desired road speed at sweet spot rpm, list goes on and on. These days it's like the Ranger world with various packages.

you know, we have some negativity around the r5g forum of small things we dont like or some major problems a handful of us have had with things like Karen (transmission)- much of it is my own input lol. however i really like my 5g. Roberts post made me reflect on past trucks and what I have done to or with them. I can honestly say I have never owned anything more surprisingly capable off road than the 5g. That includes a Jeep YJ. the 5g has never left me stranded despite my concerns. It still keeps surprising me. For all the complaints i have for ford i have to admit the 5g is a well rounded truck, fits my needs almost perfectly. a better transmission, front locker, and ability to run bigger tires easier is all i can think of...
oh snap wait. damn it. i want my adjustable headrests and bed tie downs that i paid for ford!
