Is it normal to only have parking sensors in the rear?

Don't want them either, 6 months in and still a major fooking issue with them going off randomly. Updated software last week through dealer to alledgedly fix the issue and now they all go off together. Ford Au as much use as a chocolate fire guard

Hi Siman,

You have an electrical connector issue. The dealer needs to do diligence and check the connectors in the circuits involved...Not treat it as a software issue. AU Ranger is much different from our USA Ranger, but one of the biggest problems stems from the connector behind the left headlight for USA. May be the same on AU.... Darn dealers just do not have the diagnostic talents of old...it is not just about using a computer when a hammer will do!

Good Luck,

But GM and Ford both had pickup trucks where the gas tank was inside the truck's cab.
My 1980 Chevy half ton long bed had the dual saddle tanks that were known to explode with a T-Bone collision....

I’m sure a lot of folks have been warned by others not to buy the first model year of a vehicle. With the engine cover, Ecoboost badge, middle tie-downs, and front sensors being cancelled, the 2019 owners who bought early enough sure seem to be turning that advice on its head.

I've got the forward facing sensors on my XLT, and I carried them over to my ARB bumper. I like them for parking at the grocery store and such, but they can get a little annoying off road when mounting obstacles! HAHAHA!

The most annoyed I've been with them though was this past winter, when the front of my truck was covered with frozen precipitation. At least they can be turned off with a quick press of a button in those situations!

Yeah, get them before they cost save all the good features out of them. My '19 XLT 302A still has the front sensors, use them every time I pull into the garage. Just missed out on the tie downs though.

Right. I bought a 2020 build date 10/20, and I got most of the stuff that has been cut. Rear headrests fold (after adding the button mod), glovebox damper and light, kick panel hole plugs, engine cover. Only thing I am missing is the tiedowns.

Her: "Honey, are we lost again? Maybe we should ask someone.."
Him: "We are NOT lost! I'm just exploring our options.."
Or he might be man-splaining how to be a good navigato.

That's interesting. Because I too have an XLT 302a and have the front sensors. But as @slowmachine pointed out, the website says only the Lariat gets it. I've also gone through the website and find the forward sensors can apparently only be added as part of the technology package now on XLT, which I don't have. Must've been an under the table change they made for 2020.

So to summarize: yes, it's possible to have just rears and not fronts. The front sensors come as a part of a higher end package. The rear sensors come with a much lower package.
I have front sensors on my XLT. Manufactured in October of 2019.

I only have rear sensors as well, however I don't think the front ones are really necessary. My truck has a clear pane of glass that I can see out of when I am parallel parking, enabling me to detect distances to objects by vision :D

there's something called a "hood" that blocks my view of the front bumper. my wife is short enough that she can't even see the front edge of the hood (on pretty much any vehicle), and had no idea that other people could.

I like having the front parking sensors so I have at least a vague idea of how much room I have up there. thinking hard about installing a front camera (or going whole hog and doing a 360 camera system) so I have an even better idea.
