I have a difficult time believing Ford put profits over safety.Looks like they changed that up on the 2020. Don't remember anyone noticing that before.
Really....I have a difficult time believing Ford put profits over safety.
The front parking sensors aren't so much about safety, at least in my mind, they're more about convenience. And it's not like they got rid of the sensors, they just moved them from the XLT 302a package and above, slightly up the chain to the XLT Tech package and above. Honestly probably more of a manufacturability change by grouping certain things together than anything else.I have a difficult time believing Ford put profits over safety.
What a beautiful machine.Really....

It was a great car for the time. Look at how many they sold, it's the car people wanted at the time.Exactly what I was thinking of when I responded.
Before all the news reports of the exploding pintos came out, my cousin had purchased one. He gave me a ridein it. Felt like my butt was 6 inches off the asphalt. I think it was worse than the AMC Pacer. They must give the design requirements to a mechanical engineer fresh out of college.
"Here, design a car, we'll see how you do"
Job applicant submits his design and somebody in Ford, or any other manufacturer, for that matter, says, "that'll do" and puts it in production.
I am old enough to remember when Ford intro'd the Pinto and Chevy the Vega with much hoopla and made the bold statement they would drive imports from america's shores and in reality they probably did just the opposite. Which was worse - the Pinto or the Vega ? A friend had a Vega in the rust belt and the a pillars were rusted out after 2 winters.Really....
