I'm fairly sure I have one of the Undercover Flex tonneau covers. I like that it is low enough that I can see the top of the tailgate trim in the rear-view mirror to confirm it's closed without having to go behind the truck. I've slept under it in freezing weather and never been trapped in. I don't really transport anything on the cover either.

Yes, the rear-view mirror getting blocked while the cover is propped up in its most open state can be an issue. I've thought about how I would love to make a magnet mount conversion for the high mount brake light/cargo light. Part of that conversion would add a camera, and it would allow me when I flip the cover open to snap the unit off the cab and move it to the back of the cover and have an extension cable to that plugs into the receiver on the cab. Camera would be a replacement center mirror that converts it to digital. But that is an idea on the way back burner behind 20 other projects I've started and need to finish first

Someone made a good point about not carrying anything on these when driving due to no tie-down anchors or mounts on these. Is it even possible?

I made that comment, or one like it.
Later I thought more about it and realized someone could bridge a long load over the top of the folded hard cover and the top edge of the tailgate. The rear box tie down eyes are fully accessible, but the front eyes are under the cover. I guess the front ratchet straps could loop rearward and cinch the load, but this would be even more load on the cover.
