They list the ELM327 as one that works, but it didn't read all the modules on my 2021 XLT 4x4. Sending it back. Now ordered:
Your must have received one of the "bad clone" ELM327s they refer to.They list the ELM327 as one that works, but it didn't read all the modules on my 2021 XLT 4x4. Sending it back. Now ordered:
OBDLink EX FORScan OBD Adapter
Yea, ELM327 worked, but only partially.Your must have received one of the "bad clone" ELM327s they refer to.
"Important note 2" discusses ELM327 and says its only partially functional.
I see in the screen shot above an option to enable/disable the turbo boost gauge. Does that work with the Lariat dash?Anyone notice a difference in the Hex code for disabling the IPC Welcome Screen affecting anything when using either a 4 or 6 in the hex code?
Forscan now has the ability to change this with Enable/Disable option menu, however instead of xxxX xxxx 4 (Disabled) it has a 6 (Disabled) in its place when you view the Hex line 720-03-02 after Disable.
Does the 4 disable the "Blue Sky Background" and the the block animation on start up and shut down?
I can confirm that with the Enable/Disable menu the "Blue Sky" and block animation are removed on start up and shut down.
From RCMUSTANG Disable IPC Welcome Screen
": 720-03-02 (2013+ MY) xxxX xxxx 4 (Disabled)
Note: No Blue Sky Background on IPC when getting into vehicle"
Menu option in FORSCAN: uses 6 as a value in the hex code
It doesn't work on the Ranger at all.I see in the screen shot above an option to enable/disable the turbo boost gauge. Does that work with the Lariat dash?
The sad thing is real ELM327's are good; the bad clones are terrible. And since it can be difficult to tell which is which, the real one shares the bad reputation. Something similar happened with RS232 to TLL chips some years back and the reputation of the name brand once-standard was trashed.Yea, ELM327 worked, but only partially.
I’ll probably be doing this soon then, I just hope i don’t run into any problems pairing it to the FFP tune.I have done exactly that on my XLT. I certainly get the 4 terrain modes after buying the TM button assembly and coding it with forscan.
I enabled Traffic Recognition this w/e and have NA signs. Mines a 2020... (Canada) Sign Flashes when you go over the "overage set point"Suspect the European vs US signs is a module firmware thing between MY2019 and MY2020. You made the same changes I did in Forscan.
You'll still need the actual sensor for it to work.Just ordered my ELM 327 adapter and getting ready to dive into FORScan.
I believe I read somewhere in this forum that adaptive cruise was possible through FORScan, a quick search only found one post in this thread.
Is this possible??
Also, there's plenty of YouTube vids out there to help noobs like me.
CorrectYou'll still need the actual sensor for it to work.
Correct
THIS - if you have you already have it!
I have same, no adaptive cruise. Its been discussed on here, not sure if its possible to add. Seems I recall the answer was no, but maybe someone has taken another look.On the Lariat I’ve got the lane sensing camera but not a sensor in the middle below the grill like in your picture.
I suppose that could be added and the wiring is around there somewhere.
