If this information has already been posted I apologize for overlooking the thread and please feel free to post a link to the thread

If not, in Oasis I see Ford has officially released an update to Build 20282 for Sync 3 v3.4 for the Ranger platform.

Has anyone installed this update and if so, were there any adverse effects? Not like the last update for 2019s that were running v3.3 and after updating to v3.4 Build 20136 some vehicles lost the climate control icon.

I'm curious if this update is only available for the 2019s that lost the climate control icon after updating to Sync 3 v3.4 Build 20136. My 2019 was one of the vehicles impacted by this issue. If so, this update could be Ford's official release that updates the As Built data on those vehicles to restore the climate control icon - which many users like myself have already resolved using FORScan or if there is any additional functionality/problem resolution with Build 20282. Since Ford doesn't publish release notes one is left to speculate. Update: refer to post #4.

Any and all feedback is appreciated

It's interesting this Sync 3 update is currently not available for 2019s+ F150s although they may be included at a later date.

About time?
Unfortunately, the Ford Owner site doesn't currently have the update available for my VIN. I am assuming this is the same for others??

I'm also curious if this update at some future date will be pushed out OTA eliminating the need for a manual installation. As of this morning, it is not available as an OTA update but that could change.

Here's something interesting...

I randomly picked a 2020 Ranger VIN that was produced on October 21, 2020, and was shipped with Build 20136. The Build 20282 update is not available for this vehicle - Oasis states 20136 is the most current build.

This would tend to make one assume that this update is only available for those 2019s that updated from v3.3 to v3.4 Build 20136 and lost the climate control Icon. I would really like to compare another VIN for a 2019 that lost the climate control icon after the recent v3.4 Build 20136 update to see if that VIN qualifies for the update to Build 20282.

If anyone is willing to share a VIN # for a 2019 that after the previous Sync 3 update lost the climate control icon, I would like to validate in Oasis.

I have a 2019 with 20136, never lost climate controls. Just checked and I am up to date.
Checking for an update on the Ford Owner website is currently a waste of time as it doesn't even reflect an update is available for my VIN which Oasis reflects an update is available. Therefore currently you can only check availability of the update in Oasis.

Additionally those trucks that never lost the climate controls may not be eligible for the Build 20282 update. This would indicate the update is only available for 2019s that lost the climate control icon as a result of the previous update to v3.4 Build 20136.

If anyone who gets this update, that previously had the CarPlay mic bug, could report if its fixed I'd be very grateful. Im still running the unsupported 19101.

I updated to 3.4 and lost climate control but got it back by using FORScan, but when I check the owner site says I can get an "upgrade" to 3.3.19052. It has never figured out I upgraded to 3.4.

My VIN is 1FTER4FH1KLA24941 if you want to see.

Did you update via the official Ford release to v3.4?

Oasis confirms what the Ford Owner Website states.

I downloaded to a flash drive and updated that way. It has been a while - I think I might have used the cyanlabs installer as well but don't remember if that was the last thing I tried or if I did the cyanlabs installer and then the did official Ford one. Either way, it should be smart enough to report what version it is running back to Ford, but it is apparently not.

No update for me. I updated to 3.4 v20136 and lost climate control. It was the official ford release off the ford owners site

Not so Kimosabi. Oasis indicates your vehicle DOES have an update available. The Ford Owner website apparently isn't up to date. I would continue to monitor for the update to become available.

This is the exact scenario i have my vin shows i am current at 3.3.19052 but i'm running the broken 3.4v i upgraded and even uploaded the xml file back to ford. I'm sure eventually the website will go live with the current update.

@tmcolegr thanks for the good news! I'll keep monitoring it.
I have seen the Ford Owner website take several days to reflect an update is available. It may not even update over the weekend - don't know...
