Thanks! I guess maybe I'm one of the "lucky ones" whose issue goes beyond this sensor. Or, I had a near immediate failure of my replacement of this craptastic part.
Have you checked your spark plugs for water surrounding the plugs? That might be another reason for the engine missing.

I haven't; I'll take a look.

I replaced

LB5Z-9J433-B
Valve Exhaust Gas Recirculat

and it mostly resolved my problem (or so I thought), but now it has returned back to pretty much the way it was with the bucking and feeling like it's "missing' between 15-30 MPH, especially in the morning when it's not warmed up. Is the part above the valve or sensor, and is there another part I could / should have replaced. Sorry, I'm confused at this point, especially since the part above has not seemed to resolve my problem. I have a very early 2019 (purchased in Jan 2019) so maybe I just need the PCM reset?
Mines been the same way. The sensor reduces the occurances significantly, but doesn't completely eliminate them. Always comes back. Seems to be worse when it's humid or wet out. Did you replace just the sensor or the sensor and the 2 hoses?

Edit: no water in my spark plug wells, Lariat with the rain cover. Plugs have been replaced, truck has about 28,000 miles on it at the moment.

Yes, the part comes with the sensor, two hoses, and two hose clamps that have plastic rings to aid in installation. The rings expand the hose clamps until you've installed it and ready to pull them out to clamp onto the hose.
Thanks for the info, my Ranger is not bucking yet but I ordered the part anyways. I don't recall a plastic ring but have to double check the box.

I didn't need one either but like you ordered one to have it ready and I think we both ordered ours around the same time. Mine were facing down when you opened the box so if you didn't take the whole part out you wouldn't have seen them. It's nice that they added these and should make it a quick 10 minute job.

Yes. Mine came with the ring same as yours, might have to ask you later which hose goes to where, when it's time to install.

Should be a 10 minute job UNLESS you drop a wrench into the engine bay and spend two hours finding the darn thing. Don't ask how I know.....

I dropped one of the rings when I was installing it. It's in the engine bay forever now lol.

I haven't read through this whole thread so I may be late to the party but I'm thinking having my ECU tuned, which includes tuning for the 10R80, keeps me from having a bigger issue with this bucking. I occasionally get a pretty good bump in 4th-5th just coasting down the road....very occasional.

Just wanted to add to the list that the EGR Valve (LB5Z-9J433-B) completely fixed my problem. I had my truck (2019 Ranger XLT) into the dealership 3 times and they couldn't figure it out. They even installed a new torque converter under warranty. It doesn't help much that no one there took the time to try to understand what my problem was or replicate it.

Ordered the EGR Valve, installed in 15 minutes, and my problems magically disappeared. I highly recommend using small 4.5 inch channel lock pliers to remove the old hoses. Made the job super easy for me.

My problems for the record were: big clunks into gear on cold starts, harsh bucking between 20 and 60mph at low rpms with my foot barely on the gas. Thank you to everyone here for your help!

Glad to hear it worked out for you. I feel this right here is the key symptom. If your truck bucks and carries on while you have your foot barely on the throttle, it's probably this cheap fix.

Good evening everyone!

Has anyone paid a dealer to replace the EGR sensor?

Curious what they charged.

Thanks in advance.

These dealership authorized Ford mechanics not knowing these things is so discouraging. I'm going to attempt to fix everything I can and only go to the dealership when it's the last option.
