I think for the corner storage I will work the fuel into the drivers side. Then possibly a water spigot into the passengers side.
do you plan on building/including a water tank?

Yes I sure do. I will plastic weld it. And will fit it either below the tray or in between the headboard depending on how I brace it.

Those look awesome! I looked on the website and they have some that are 3/4” thick. That might be a good option. I did find some 1/4” rubber in the shop that I’ve used before on some of my other projects. I wonder how that would hold up.
My go-to is always semi-truck mud flaps. Easy to find, different thicknesses, and cheap (as long as you avoid the ones with the chrome woman silhouette).

Very cool Brad,

How do you like those TOUGHBUILT saw horses? I love mine and I see you’re using one of their features properly. ?
I have actually built for mine a 6' x 4' frame. (out of 2x4's ) that has misc clamp points, hold fast points, etc. it leans up against the wall behind my small work bench, and then I can drop it down and have a 4x 6' table big enough for larger projects.

That must really come in handy David. ?

A similar idea has crossed my mind but I’ve never actually taken the time to figure out exactly how I’d want it to work (size, height, materials, portability, etc.). All in good time, I guess.

Great Job! If you lived over here you could have bought that off the shelf - for a cost of course. We call them tray tops and service bodies. That because tradespeople and service people buy them in droves. You can get all permutations and combinations, of, alloy tray, alloy body, steel tray, steel body , fiberglass body. But they are great for camping and touring as well, one of my friends built one for his Mazda BT50 ( Mazda badged Ranger clone sold here) out of alloy.

Thanks man!! I’ve got a buddy who used to build trays in Australia and one friend who has one currently on his Ranger now down there. So I’ve been picking their brain about this build. I’m looking forward to use it for camping and then as a truck too.

Updated the tail light section. I dig it!!
Nice neat welding, unlike my crappy stuff! As I said before - great job, can't wait to watch it progress.
