Anyone else keep accidentially putting their truck in 4H?

I’ve only done it with the iPhone cord , but my wife has done it from the passenger seat a few times, also with her phone and or cord.
I could see how that could happen. My cord loops around the knob normally though and never did this.

My cord is the fabric wrapped variety. Maybe it slides across the knob easier when a rubberized coating may grip it?

Its the phone cord for me. I use a coiled cord so it's a bit thicker and maybe "grippier". This usually happens when I first get in the truck and connect the cord to the phone before driving off. First world problems. lol

Hmmm , I wonder if a right hand drive console could be swapped in. Forget that idea - might cause too many fights.

“What the heck are you doing? Stop touching stuff!”

“What is your problem? I didn’t touch a thing!”

I bump it occasionally when I am turning off the auto stop in a hurry. Or grabbing my phone from the cubby in front of it. A push and turn design would be great.

This.

The other day I was remembering this thread while looking at the knob.

I have no earthly idea how some people do this. I thought I saw somebody say they hit it with their leg? But it's not on the edge of the console, it's set inside quite a bit? Where are you people putting your legs?
Heptapods have it rough...

Things have been just great with my Ranger and haven't poked my head in here for some time. But I have bumped the 4WD knob twice and came here to search for a thread on it.
Yep, stupid design.

Just get one of these and that won't ever happen again.
