That makes sense.
I was making my statement based on how my 255s on stock wheels align with the UCA. But I was failing to take into account that most 285s are a bit shorter than my tire.
Aren't Tremors delivered with 265/70 17's? That's only 31 ½".
OP has a leveled tremor. He could probably fit 34's no problem.
Tires and underbody protection would be the route I'd go.
It's totally the width.
285s won't fit stock wheels. They'll rub on UCA/knuckle. Move the wheel out to get away from the suspension and the bars get in the way.
Height will put you closer to the bars for sure. But at the tire height most of here run, 33" and below, it's really the width and...
Just a heads up.
It's the width that gets you into the crash bars not the height.
My 33"s reside on stock wheels and all crashbars are intact because they're skinny.
It sounds like to me the nannies were holding you back at higher speeds, and by trying to compensate for that you were getting too loose at slower speeds.
The only way to turn off RSC (roll stability control) is Sand Mode. Try it. I don't play in sand much but Sand Mode, Sport, AdvanceTrak...
There's plenty of times I use 4hi at high speeds.
Mostly interstate travel in light snow/ice type situations. The type of stuff where an Auto or AWD option would be helpful.
I try to keep it around 65ish though at max.
It is. Tires alone make it so, then you have suspension to account for.
Which is why I said to measure it yourself. Ford documentation on the Ranger is garbage.
For sure. I totally agree. And inclement weather.
But I'm talking about the boy racers in here with their 4hi launches. I think @Doc has proven that getting a decent 60ft or 1/4 mile time in these does not require 4hi.
Everybody seems to think 4hi is necessary for traction but I really don't think we need it THAT much.
Proper modulation of your two feet and two pedals with AdvanceTrak off and locker on can hook up pretty damn good in these trucks. Even on A/T tires.
That's a pretty good outlook in my opinion. Maybe a bit low though depending on how used. Keeps the bullshit of selling it to a minimum, and moves it fast. I'm not trying to dick around d with shit forever.
When I sell car stuff my goal is for the person who eventually buys it to think to...
The transmission shift logic is geared towards mileage and lugs the motor.
Drive in Tow, Sport, or get a tune is the only way to fix it.
Also tow will probably get you better MPG.
2WD XLT right?
Hard for me to say as both of those numbers look retarded high to me and I personally would never buy a 2WD truck.
That being said, if pricing was in line with others in the area, and if I were interested in the truck I'd be willing to pay only a bit more for mods.
I like your...
Was mostly just pissed about the mass text. Had to vent though.
Got some more sleep, skipping the grass, already went for a ride. Good advice.
Still my least favorite Holiday though.
I just want to say that as a Father, Father's Day is my LEAST favorite Holiday.
I got a handmade card from my oldest who works a full time job. She'll be hanging out with her friend and their family today.
My youngest will make me chocolate chip cookies. I don't really like cookies.
