Thats OK...it's called a "Brain Fart", and I get them all the time.Thank corrected post. senior moment.
BUT...you still have to "manually" turn the knob to "auto" for it to function. If you turn your headlight to on, do you consider them automatic because they turned on to the proper setting?
Or you turn the dial to "auto" and they come on/off automatically every time the light conditions prescribe it, without you turning the dial again?
Yes. You also park in your driveway and drive on the parkway. Life is confusing if you look to closelyBUT...you still have to "manually" turn the knob to "auto" for it to function.
That makes it "manuallyautomatic" !
In regard to the headlights, you turn them to Auto one time and it is fully automatic; and with the locks you are referring to UNLOCKING, which should never be automatic. When I start driving, yes they automatically lock, so I guess I'm missing the point on both counts.BUT...you still have to "manually" turn the knob to "auto" for it to function.

Moving on, lets talk about the auto door locks that you manually have to press a door button or fob to activate.....
LOL. The irony?...and with the locks you are referring to UNLOCKING, which should never be automatic.
Fair enough, I was only looking at it from the angle that one was outside the vehicle. But some here would argue that pulling the door handle is manual operation.LOL. The irony?
It actually does. If the door is locked, and you come to a stop, just pull on the door handle. It will literally automatically unlock that door and allow exit from the vehicle.

That's a good test of the de-bounce electronic circuitry behind the scene. I'm a long time embedded firmware designer/developer, Masters in Electrical Engineering. Love to write and play with software on real circuit boards that control real world stuff - like mirrors/lights/bluetooth/wifi/etc.I'm going to try a different method....
Instead of "pushing" my button, I'm going to try to "depress" my button and see if there is any change in the operation. One must consider all the options pertaining to the correct procedure, ie., depressing instead of pushing.
So you got some time on your hands eh... Boy this is going to be some fun! That's a good test of the de-bounce electronic circuitry behind the scene.
