I have to laugh at some of these posts. Clearly folks just parrot what they hear on the news and haven’t lived here. Honestly the price of gas really makes little difference to most people. The real everyday problems California has like crappy roads, traffic, questionable quality of education...
I suppose It’s easy to get caught up in the newness and romance of a trailer. I know it’s pulling me in! Great advice to keep expectations in line. Still for six figures I’d have some rather high hopes of a decent product. The one I’m looking at is about half that much. From what I’ve seen...
That’s terrible! The one I’m looking at is basically a custom build and appears to be very well made but of course comes with commensurate pricing.
I’m excited to hopefully pick up our trailer in next few weeks. We’ve been looking for a couple years. Started with Boreas then followed Off Grid for a while but we are getting an Xpedition Overland Voyager. I think we are next in line for build or close to it. The big attraction to this one...
Well you are right, the net effect is the same. You are sitting there in the dark. The reason behind them is very different however. PSPS is a bit scary because it means we are in red flag conditions and wildfire risk is super high. Pack your go boxes and be ready to evacuate. The utility...
Kent,
Maybe it’s just a question of terminology. We get those PSPS aka public safety power shutoffs too. I thought a blackout was due to the utility actually unable to supply the power demand due to capacity constraints, not choosing to turn power off to avoid starting another wildfire. In...
I make liberal use of the block function to avoid the various trolls on this forum. Makes for a better experience. There are some really great people here don’t let the jerks drive you away.
I can offer my personal experience owning an EV.
I find driving the thing to be absolutely a hoot because it has torque right away from zero. It really moves! Cornering isn’t bad but for sure the dynamics of all that battery weight hurts cornering but it’s not awful. Weight is low in the...
I was coming back from a camping trip fully loaded with my wife and daughter in the truck and some loser wanted to race. Really?
Get challenged also in my car. In bumper to bumper traffic. Like, where you gonna go? Maybe it’s just a common affliction.
Oh yeah just remembered couple weeks...
I had a Toyota truck, like a 1990 model year. It was a great truck for the time. I like my Ranger better though. Press photo but mine looked just like this.
I’ve got the same lights from Ford Performance but used the brackets they came with and had slight wiper contact at first. I had to loosen the bolts on the hood where the bracket attaches and move it outboard out of the way of the wiper. If you can’t move them any more I’d suspect the brackets...
At least you are out of harms way. Stay calm and stay safe. Evacuation is my worst nightmare. You can always replace the RV but we can’t replace you.
My latest, maybe last light addition is these raptor lights. Thanks Custom Auto Works! Looks good! Yes, the drivers side led strip looks off but it’s the camera. Tried a few times but couldn’t catch that light on.
If your commute is only 6 miles maybe consider an electric bike. I rode my e bike to work yesterday and my commute is more than 13 miles. With traffic it’s actually almost same time. Plus little stress and I get exercise. Just a thought.
