First I have found Ford only seems to update stuff on Tuesdays.
if you ordered your truck last Friday, The order would be accepted the following Tuesday (if dealer got order completed in time).
Last Tuesday 9/6 there was no ranger orders accepted.
the next scheduling period is 9/13 which would give you a build date of
the week of
11/1, 11/8 or 11/15/.

The easiest way to track your truck at the beginning of the order cycle to get your dealer to give you the order number, and the dealers sales code number.
than call Ford 800-334-4375 1 than hold
tell them you want to track your truck.
With the order number and sales code the people on the ford line can look your order up.
once they see a VIN they will give it to you
THAN you can start to use the Ford tracking site.
But to be honest, its best to call Ford on Wed since the records only seem to update sometime on Tuesdays.

I just got an update from my dealer. Ford seems to be working magic on my truck.

Ordered on: 8/18
In production date: 9/23

That's fast.

And so today it changed to 9/27 and it still shows "In Production" yet my dealer's GM assures me it has been completed.

It may be built but staged waiting for a chip....can the Dealership confirm it is fully completed and awaiting shipping?

What kind of truck did you order? I ordered mine on 8-18 also (Lariat Tremor), got the VIN# 9-13....still waiting for a build date. I understand they upload new builds on Thursdays......maybe I will hear something tomorrow. I suspect we will both get our trucks around Thanksgiving. Lets hope so!!!
Right now they are building very few Broncos and plan to ramp up Bronco production in November and December....maybe that's there plan, get as many Rangers done now as they can. A guy in the factory told me that they are building 6-7 Rangers for every 1 Bronco.

Edit: I recall seeing the cyber orange was balance'd out on 8-18. Did you order that color, and if so that may be why you don't have a build date.

Get railroad car number from dealer. only they can provide this number. This is found on the dealers tracking system.

CSX

1. Call the CSX 1-800-235-2352
2. When prompted for location or weight say Location.
3. When prompted for the car initials, say (initials of your car) then wait for the next prompt.
4. When prompted for the car number, say (your car number)
5. When prompted for next car say DONE.

Wait and it will tell you the last departure or arrival.

Notes: be sure to listen to the car number, mine has letters that the phone system confuses what it hears.
I have read this is a service for CSX customers only, you never want to try to talk to a live agent, if they try to transfer you hang up and call back.

these instructions worked perfectly, my truck arrived in Barstow this morning. Should be a couple more days to get to my dealer lot.

Ok, here is what I ordered... Ranger Lariat 4X4 in Cyber Orange w/ Black Appearance pkg, locking diff, tow pkg.

I waited 4 yrs to order from the first time I saw the "new" Rangers in Mexico back at Christmas 2017. This was a long-planned purchase and not spur of a moment deal. I will drive this truck until the wheels fall off like I do all my vehicles.

I haven't actually been to the dealership as my entire deal was done by phone and email back in Feb and waited until April to place the order so I could get delivery in the last week of July. At lest that was the plan. I "built" the custom order just the way I wanted without any salesperson trying to influence me.

Recently I did speak with the dealership sales manager and GM. Both have told me their info shows the truck is completed and awaiting shipping. They swear the chip shortage isn't applicable to my truck. But with all that, they say they are at the mercy of Ford for the delivery.

Yes, I am mad but not much else I can do.

What does "balanced out" mean?????? Ford took the order for it and issued a VIN# confirming the color. Thanks

I would try calling Ford Customer Service for some answers.........
