Yes, this is almost exactly same boat for both of us.

I had a 96 Ranger some with 110k in 2002 and loved it. Some woman in van changing lanes clipped rear end and insurance company totaled it. Gave me way more for it than I'd every have expected. Insurance guy's arm was never same from me grabbing that check so fast. Bought a 2002 and wanted to replace for years but they stopped building. Same not wanting first year production model and then delay to see how people fared. Never did see anything on lot after looking for quite a while and ordered.

To be fair, my sales guy and dealer have my respect and no frustration with them. The sales guy can't sell it if Ford does not produce it! But, at least they could be straight with me on what is going on. And if they are so F'd up they can't project when it will be done, they are really in trouble.

What exactly is your build??

Mine is 4x2, 6ft box, Supercab, 501A, Lariat, Spray in liner, splashguards/flaps, running board/chrome, trailer tow package, chrome appearance package.

Never need 4x4 or big cab and got to have longer bed for canoe, plywood, etc. lol

Have wondered if there was some option that caused delays.
It's the S'cab configuration IMO if you search around on your local dealer websites you'll find out like i did that the dealer ordered Sc's are backed up, yet the S'crews are delivered, so i don't know what it is or part but thats what I've found out, also my '21 order has been pushed to a '22 and it's a S'cab.

Good morning Gregory. After reviewing my resources, I do see that your vehicle order is currently shipped. Your vehicle is In Transit or on its way to your dealership. For more information regarding your order, please keep in contact with your selling dealership. They will have access to the most up-to-date information and developments regarding your order. You can also stay updated on your Ranger order using the customer order tracking link. https://shop.ford.com/vehicleordertracking…

That's a lot of words for them to say they're not going to help you. CS is so annoying sometimes. Just be real and tell me you don't actually know. That said even the dealers seem to be in the dark with regards to the larger happenings at Ford.

I'm hoping with all my heart that I get an email this week with a build date. This thread has given me a bit of hope. That said you guys have clearly noted that its not all roses and sunshine from there. There's plenty of crap that can happen.

I also have a S cab ordered a Lariat. I ordered mine on Aug 24th and had a vin # a week later. On October 28 I got an email from my dealer stating I now have a 2022 ordered. That was 5 weeks ago and no vin # yet. I feel your pain.

Why did you think he had a Supercab??
Just a hunch but it seems a lot of posts about long build time and more recently '21 order's cancelled and moved to '22's are S'cabs.
Just today my dealer that i ordered thru took delivery of 2 of 3 S'crews that they ordered 2 months after my order, the third is in transit and obviously be there before mine even hits the beginning of the assembly line.
Look at the members here receiving their vehicles, most if not all are S'crews.

Ford Customer Care hasn't been any help. Here is what they told me, word for word on November 2 and again at 940 this morning. Again, both messages were word for word identical.

I did not know about Customer Care line. I dug around online and found something that sounded like it. They were asking for my Social Security Number which spooked me. When I ordered on Apr 26. I tried to give money and the sales rep just declined it repeatedly.

So, Ford national likely does not have my name against the build, I guess. It appears I can't get anything out of that Customer Care thing.

Today the sales guy said: "

Hi Jim,

No he did not get back to me, thanks for reminding me. I will reach out to him now. The update on my end is the same as yours showing Nov 30th. What I am sure is going to happen is that the vehicle will just show up without notice. I have dozens of other vehicles for customers in the same boat. So crazy. I will let you know what my rep says..."

So, guess he has little confidence in that delivery site being updated and the truck may be on the road like your's seems to be? So darn frustrating.

I also watch production numbers and they are F150's are not slacking in delivery like Rangers. They are using the chips for the more pricey vehicles.

This will very likely be my last Ranger and last Ford if I have even the slightest problem with this truck. I can get the build I want right now with Toyota and Chev. If I wanted one of those, I would not have ordered a Ranger.

I think it has more to do with the options/how much they can make.

My Xl stx RWD is a screw. I think the fact the MSRP was below $35,000 has more to do with it than cab configurations tbh.

Let me guess you have a Supercab on order?
Yes it was a Supercab in Catus Gray, what is weird, two dealers in my area ordered Supercabs in Catus Gray 3-4 weeks after my order was confirmed and theirs were built. I was told customers had their vehicles built first, oh well for that thought.

I don't think production means anything as I was told same thing back in July. "Woo hoo, you truck will be in production early Aug" they told me.

Silly me, I sold my 2002 at that time thinking early Aug production, few weeks for shipping, end of Aug at latest I will be able to go fishing.

I still don't have truck, But, perhaps I will have a bed full of wheat from it sitting out in the weather waiting for chips since early August.

Just suspecting what first available production means - as you said "whatever that means". Uncross them fingers, gonna get crick in em. ;)
100% agreed!

I managed to get customer care on phone and the told me exactly what I already knew. Website says delivery end of November and it is 7 Dec after that date.

They were nice, polite and I pity them for having to take calls and can't do anything for waiting and frustrated customers.

But, I did spent couple hours today cruising on Chevy and Nissan site for truck with options I want. If they treat me like this for seven plus months, how can I expect they will suddenly become customer focused once I get truck and may have some problem? Getting near to walking. Middle of Dec is as far as I can go on this dead end road.

I took a look at different mid sized pickups too, Ridgeline, Frontier, Canyon etc., most of these vehicles are also hard to find and would have to be ordered as well. The only other truck I would consider due to it's fuel mileage is the Maverick, but then again, it needs to be ordered and there are no incentives (interest rates, cash back) to push me in that direction.

The order tracking page doesn't work more often than it does actually work. Can you have someone look into that?

I have also been having trouble with the tracker web page. I found if I move to Safari as my web browser it seems to work more frequently than using Firefox

Tried that, also tried a different computer. Not sure what's happening. Hit the "Accept & Track" button and nothing happens.
