2.3L - 6.2 quart oil change capacity...

Curiosity, so just how many of you are preforming your oil changes with 6.2 quarts, or filling them with a six pack of quarts of semi or full synthetic oil and call it good?

6.4 ounces can’t make that much of a difference with regular oil changes… thoughts please…

Just a small note that will alter the dipstick level.
If you pull the drain plug and reinstall before pulling the filter you will have a small amount of oil still in the pan.
If you leave the drain plug out then move to the filter you will see a small amount of oil drain out of the plug when you break the oil filter seal.

I buy in 5 qt jugs. Have multiple 5w30 vehicles. I know I use more than 1 jug for the ranger lol. I fill it until its on the full tick. Probably a touch over 6qts

I put in the extra .2 qts and the dip stick shows a little above full. Next time I'll just put in 6 qts. and forget the .2 qts.

6 Qts and send it. I had a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse with the 3.0 V6 years ago that called for something goofy like the Ranger does. I think it was 5.2 if I remember correctly. Put 5 Qts in it everytime. Sold it to my neighbor with over 250k miles on it. Last I talked to her it was well over 300k and her brother was still driving it.
