I never realized how big they are till I started rescuing and transporting them to the rehab facility. I had to get a federal permit but it was worth the hassle to help these magnificent creatures.

The next image is what happens when one bites you “through Kevlar gloves” and then a closeup of the wicked talons. I keep all the gear in the back of the Ranger ready to go on a moments notice.

Drove down to Tubac (about 15 miles south of us) this morning and spent a half the day there. We've been there several times before but it was a nice 72 degree day and we wanted to be outside. It's a small artsy-fartsy little town with a bunch of shops that have stuff made by local artists and a few restaurants. I didn't buy anything but of course you know who did!🤦‍♂️

Just some of Annies packages from today. The rest of the stuff she bought will be shipped this week. :oops:o_O

I was today years old when I learned that the Ford Pass App will tell you what the CEL is.
PO 461, something about a fuel level sensor. Light came on right after I got gas.
The code reader I have at home wouldn't turn the CEL off. I'm not going to worry about it.

I got out of town for a little while and climbed above the fog.

I sure like that topper. They put a lot of thought into maximizing its utility. Very nice. Spendy but nice.

SmartCap wants $4400 for theirs and Dirtbox wants $4750 so there is not much price difference between the most popular and the what I bought. The advantages to Dirtbox are huge. It is very well sealed, no seams, and it comes prewired with power and lighting.

We went camping in Baja, crossed a dry lake bed that was much more lake than dry from the recent rains. Barely made it out of that mess, I got off easy with a sidewall puncture from a stick, it slow leaked and I woke the next morning to a flat. No problem, we carry a full size spare. Later that day I heard an engine revving and found a 2wd conversion van with bald street tires stuck to the axle just outside of camp. I drove over and winched them out. Other than that it was another nice and relaxing trip to Baja.

Great pics! How did you end up getting the full size spare?
