THIS! I had my transmission replaced at 59k and was still experiencing low speed shifting issues, who knows, they probably tossed in an off the shelf transmission with the old drum in it. After various recommendations and one from the mechanic who put my transmission in, I decide to bite the bullet and get the Ford Performance Tune. The difference in shifting is night and day and the added horsepower for me is merely a bonus, they all should of left the factory with this shifting strategy. If your on the fence do it, you wont regret it.
Where did you purchase from Ford ?

Long story short
Valves sticking, "skipping" on clutch. Local dealer recommended new trans.
$10880

No rebuild quote. Asked for one. Waiting on that call now.

Took truck in for trans slipping, bucking, faling out of gear behavior I didnt know was an issue until after I left. Told them I needed fluid and filter and probably some diagnostics. 3.5hrs later as I'm paying for the fluid change, tech mentions that I "should bring it back in for diagnostics. Nothing changed."
I got pissed and passive aggressive and left a Google review. Was given a free loaner while they had the truck for diagnostics ans told that Ford and the dealer would work with me on a solution.

Got the call today with info at the beginning of the post, was told that Ford coverage ends at 100k. I'm livid.

I can't afford 11k for a new trans. Shit, I can't afford half that. That's why I have a ranger not a 150...
What are my options? Help?
Had this happen at about 3000 miles. They had to replace the valve body due to the sticking solenoid(s). No problems since and I have a 2020.

Mine is valve body and clutch/steels and cdf drum. I WISH it happened early like you. I had zero problems until past 100k miles

I have 31k on my 2020, what should I do to prevent this from happening to me ?
I'm trading mine in about a hundred miles before my bumper to bumper extended warranty runs out at 83K...17K to go.

Bummer to give up that awesome Super Cab.
I love this truck, but I’m seeing way too many failed transmission threads. All The new trucks with 8,9 and 10 speed autos seem to have problems. May buy a 10 year old Tundra and trade gas mileage and ability to park for reliability. No idea what I’m going to get…

Transmissions are covered to 100,000 miles?
Thats my main fear and one reason I had planned to unload as soon as this is paid off this year.
No issues yet though

The way I'm looking at it is this - mine is paid off - IF I get a trans failure, I will take it to a local transmission shop (not the dealer) to get it fixed. It probably won't be cheap, but it will be cheaper than buying a new truck. Thus far, I've had zero issues with the truck in almost 6 years so.....

In the meantime, I'm taking the advice of several here and doing fluid changes and adding Lubeguard platinum. I'm probably also going to install the PPE pan to make fluid changes easier and possibly increase the strength of the case.

With it being out of warranty go to a reputable transmission shop and have them handle it. You can count on it being cheaper. You said they told you 100k on warranty that is news I thought powertrain warranty was 5 years and 60k miles. Did you have extended warranty?
If you get a used truck with the Ford Gold certified pre owned warranty, its 7 years/100K miles on the powertrain. This is what is keeping me from doing a transmission pan/tune... If/when the 10R80 takes a dump, I want no question as to warranty coverage.
