Why let something like too much tongue weight spoil the trip or slow you down, gotta admire their perseverance, I thought this mainly happened to older Tacos with rusted frames.

I haven’t towed anything yet. But I am in the middle of adding oxy/acetylene tanks and the welding cables And hoping to keep it to 900# GW. I’m looking forward to taking it out for spin with the trailer. ( old pic from last winter.)

That’s I nice welder you got there.. when I was a ironworker we had miller trailblazers… welding was so much fun, but I don’t miss wearing those leathers during the summer day or the occasional knuckle blisters..(yes I had good gloves but when you’re working against the clock you gotta push a bit sometimes.)

Seeing the welder just made me miss the crew of guys I worked with…

harassment and offensive language/behavior wasn’t tolerated it was graded? great bunch of AHoles to have worked with for the better part of a decade.

6 x 12 utility trailer loaded to ~ 3500 lbs. Towed it across the country with a 2021 F150 and about 150 miles with the Ranger. Truck handled it very well and was comparable to the F150 in driving characteristics. Will calculate MPG when I fill up today.

Update - hand calculated efficiency over 220 miles of towing was 17 MPG. Better than expected!

Like a grandpa lol. 45-65 MPH on mostly back roads with a few dozen miles around 70 MPH on the interstate.

We just got back from a week trip to Kentucky and back, 1000 miles towing our travel trailer.
I do not keep track of the overall mpg....just not that important to me....it is what it is and it ain't gonna change.
But, reason for this post.....I have a Scan Gauge lll which has an "Instant MPG" gauge which is fun to watch as you are driving. You all would be shocked to read what your really getting during an uphill climb at around 60-65 mph up a 7% grade in some areas of WV on I-64. While in tow mode running up that grade, keeping throttle to 60 mph.....4.2 mpg or so. Push it to 65 mph....3.8 mpg. Now, thats not long term, but just climbing the grade (and the Ranger had no problems holding 65 mph towing our 7000 lb trailer).
Just so you all know, under heavy load, throttle down, the Ranger SUCK'S fuel....BIG TIME !!!! Not for the faint of heart to watch that particular gauge !!!
