Anyway, when I was doing the BMS reset, I noticed a DTC code - B11F0:

I cleared it and restarted and it came back - at first I thought it might have been something with the battery replacement but it does not appear to be. Anyone know about what this means and/or if I should worry about it?
That actuator is located behind the glovebox and is part of the HVAC system. The DTC code is indicating that the module senses a short to voltage or an open on air inlet door actuator circuits when motor movement is commanded.
Here is its location behind the glovebox.

Strange - The HVAC is working really well. I had someone in the truck the other day and he wanted me to turn it down - the A/C was working TOO well.

Maybe I'll poke around that actuator and see if something is loose or something.

Thanks

I think that actuator is controlling whether air is entering from outside or inside the cab (recirculating), so the AC will still work.

I've pulled my battery terminals a few times now. For this test and other mods. For the Redarc TBC, it was disconnected for a few hours.

But I didn't reset my BMS, is that only needed for new batteries?

Can you change batteries without resetting the BMS?

I see folks saying to disconnect the BMS and run like that.

me ???

You should perform a BMS reset only when the battery is replaced.

The manuals do state in more than one location to only do the BMS reset when you replace the battery, however if you dig into some of the Troubleshooting it references a BMS reset procedure for a resolution to Deep Sleep notification issues, so it does contradict information.

All the reset does is it tells the BCM that a new battery is installed and it resets the aging battery charging algorithm (Learned) and it also resets the Time Since Installed Date of the battery, so owners with battery issues may be able to get some extra life out of a battery just by doing a reset, but the main thing is depending on what is the current IR reading of the battery, as this reflects how well (easily) it will accept the charge.

Factory warranty wise it would be covered under the 3/36.

For your factory extended warranty it should cover that most likely but you might have a deductible to pay depending. I would double check the contract with it.
Earlier this year my 2021 Ranger suddenly wouldnt turn over after only sitting for a few days. Took it to the dealer, they said the battery was shot. Unfortunately, at the time , the truck was 3 years and one month old...and had 37k on it.....so they said it was out of Factory Warranty... and my Ford ESP wouldn't cover it either, as tires and batteries are an exception to the plan. They said it MUST be replaced with an AGM battery. These were backordered at the time, so the truck sat for a week and a half while they came up with a new battery, which I had to pay for. I agree with the other guys that modern cars have more electronics which shorten battery life, so I'm not really unhappy about this.... the truck now has 50k on it and this is the ONLY problem I have ever had with it.

I may do a reset as a test since my battery is getting long in the tooth.

Truck sat for only a week then I charged and desulfated it.

I finally got time to look at this - I think I found it and nothing looks wrong. All wires intact. Since everything seems to be working fine I've decided I'm not going to worry about it....
