Let us know how that works when they pull the freeze frame data out of the ECU and find out what you were doing before the trans let go.I'm kinda excited ? ? ? , I'll be back behind the wheel soon , armed with an OK from Ford to give me a NEW TRANSMISSION!!!
Asking for a friend, how long is that data kept and can I view it with Forscan?Let us know how that works when they pull the freeze frame data out of the ECU and find out what you were doing before the trans let go.

My understanding is that it keeps a certain amount of data when a CEL is triggered. Something like back 30 seconds. Not an expert on that though, just my understanding of how it works.Asking for a friend, how long is that data kept and can I view it with Forscan?
I've got the Livernois tune, Fitzstick and the PPE pan. It's gonna be obvious I messed with it so I'm hoping my mods, fluid changes and luck work in my favor.I've had some minor issues with clunky/harsh shifts since I bought the truck. I did put the Unleashed 93 octane tune on it. I'm wondering how the dealership is going to treat this if I were to take it in for this TSB.
You can always "flip the script " on them if they cry that you modded it , if Ford had made a "proper" transmission that shifted correctly, you wouldn't have had to mod it in the first place , if that doesn't work, you can try and pull the "Ranger5g forum" card (very powerful when used correctly)I've got the Livernois tune, Fitzstick and the PPE pan. If my trans blows and I have to pay seven grand I want a 5-speed swap!
I have the Livernois tune, and mine behaves much like yours. When it's cold, the first couple of shifts in the morning can be a little rough, but then it's fine. Been doing that since new.The only time mine doesn’t shift smooth is the first few times it shifts in the morning and that is only occasionally. I know there isn’t an answer but I’m still curious lol.
Thank the EPA for that. These things are programmed to head to 10th as fast as possible.Hm. I have an Oct 2020 built truck with 18K miles, purchased end of March 2021. I wouldn't say it has harsh shifts, but it does sometimes like to camp out in 7th when it should be in 4th, and I tap the accelerator to get it to shift.
I just had it in the shop to replace the HVAC actuator and got it in under warranty period. Waiting on replacement parts. When I go back in I'll ask them to check out the trans.
Pretty normal I'd say. Cold fluid is thicker fluid, messes with shift timings till it gets warmed up a bit.I have the Livernois tune, and mine behaves much like yours. When it's cold, the first couple of shifts in the morning can be a little rough, but then it's fine. Been doing that since new.
Does it only warm while moving? And not while just idling.?Pretty normal I'd say. Cold fluid is thicker fluid, messes with shift timings till it gets warmed up a bit.
It does, but it would take forever to get any appreciable amount of temperature in it.Does it only warm while moving? And not while just idling.?
idling is just a way to waste gasDoes it only warm while moving? And not while just idling.?
