Looks like it's dated at April 16th, 2025. I haven't looked through it yet to see what the changes are but they listed the reason for the update was to "update the Part List and Service Procedure". Still looks like the CDF drum issue is limited to Rangers built before August 16th, 2022.
Hi All,
New to the forum! I am purchasing a certified 2021 Ranger XLT with 14,000 miles on it. Test drove it twice, didn’t see any issues with it. Car fax is clean - oil change at 5k, 8k, and 13k. Lease vehicle which was returned to the dealer. I have not picked it up yet, but I have come...
Let me preface this with a little backstory before I get into the issue.
Just purchased my NEW TO ME 2019 Ranger XL STX rwd w/ 52,000 on the clock.
Purchase date: 1/31/25
I absolutely love the truck got it for 20,000 out the door at a legitimate big Chevrolet dealership off the used lot. Clean...
So this is gonna be a long one. Buckle up.
First off, I've worked for FoMoCo at two different plants in KY for over 13 years.
My 2021 Ranger XLT FX4 started having pretty severe rough shifting issues around 35,000 miles. I took it to the dealership where I purchased it, and they told me that...
Are you able to set the Ranger to run only 2-10 on the transmission in forscan, or is the only option in "manual button" mode? I feel like 1st is a waste of time/power now, and just makes a leave from a dead stop feel slow and sluggish. Some context, im currently running Ford Perfomance Tune, a...
Is there a way, besides visiting a dealership, to check the software/firmware version on my 2019 Ranger? I want to ensure I have the latest updates for my transmission.
I have Forscan and have already updated Sync 3 via USB from Ford's website, but I assume Sync isn’t related to control modules...
My first thread!
Back in April/May - after reading about the issues with the 10R80 fluid levels (and prior experience with the 6R80 lead frame fail on my 2012 F-150) I decided I needed to install a dipstick like we used to have. And be done with the abomination that Ford gave us in the 6R80 and...
Long time reader, first time poster. Calling in today to share my recent (and still ongoing) experience with the ill-fated transmission on my 2019. For what it's worth, the transmission isn't the only thing that's plagued my truck: the TPMS sensors are wonky and the A/C went out a few months...
Greetings All,
Dropping another one of my write-ups on the infamous bucking/surging epidemic our Rangers seem to have.
Check out the "Bucking/Surging Epidemic" thread started by @Tim Vogt Sr. for every piece of information you could want...
Hey Everyone,
I recently purchased a 2022 Ranger Tremor in early April. I have been loving the truck, but can't help but notice the low speed shudder typically until 10-11 mph. I have read through dozens of forums regarding TSBs, and various "fixes," but unless I am wrong there does not seem to...
So a really common problem I'm seeing with all of our rangers is ROUGH and Delayed clunky shifting. I'm also seeing that alot of ranger owners have to replace their transmissions before they reach 100K miles. This sucks. You can bet this harsh delay and clunky shifting is a contributing factor...
Hey all,
I searched for posts on the problems I'm having but not sure if my issues are similar.
I'm getting a vibration when the truck is cold coming from either the transmission diff or axle. It happens between 55 and 65KMH (~40 MPH). It goes away completely when the truck is driven and...
So back in August, my parking brakes were seized… Which doesn’t even make any sense because I used them every day… But two mechanics said it would be around $300 to fix, and they both recommended that I don’t get it fixed and just leave it...
However, that’s not the issue… The issue is that...
I currently have a 2020 Ford Ranger XLT FX4 that has 60,000 miles on it and the dealer is wanting me to get some service done and I’m trying to figure out what actually needs done at this mileage. My current driving conditions as far as temp and weather is central texas. I drive mainly city with...
Hey everyone,
Longtime reader, first time poster. Figured I'd share my transmission story since it sounds like others are going through similar issues as well. Bought my Ranger last August with 27k miles on the odometer. I've been loving it so far, but I've definitely noticed some occasional...
Hello 5g friends,
Here's my story. In January I took my 2020 Ford Ranger XLT to my local Ford dealership to take a look at my transmission. In cold weather I was experiencing lag between shifts and hard shift until warmed up. I have put it in drive and have had to wait 20+ seconds for the...
The issue I have been having is when I accelerate the engine and or transmission has a faint to a little louder sound and the best that I can describe it is when you put a baseball card on your bike and it hits the spokes really fast is this normal? Had a service guy at a ford dealer do a ride...
Okay... I swear I saw a recall on this and I'm not real sure if this is an issue so I'm asking for some feedback as well.
I usually am not in Sport mode for daily driving but I do pop into it occasionally. I noticed the other day that the shifter does not 'lock' into Sport mode. This isn't an...
I wasn't sure if this belonged under towing or general since I've got a couple of questions here, so if this needs to be moved, please do so.
Bit of a backstory: We got our 2019 XLT FX4 supercrew w/ factory tow hitch back in September with only 10k miles on it, mainly as a replacement for our...
